Mobile Locksmith Too Provides Trusted Service in Pahrump

Shayne Smith, co-owner of Mobile Locksmith Too, has been at the helm of this trusted local business for the past four years, providing essential locksmith services to the Pahrump community and beyond. While the original business has been operating for over 12 years, Shayne and his business partner and also brother-in-law, Rick Martin, took over when Rick’s uncle relocated. To keep the business in the family, they created Mobile Locksmith Too, continuing the family trade and evolving it into the successful venture it is today.

Mobile Locksmith Too, as Shayne proudly explained, offers a range of locksmith services, including commercial rekeys, vehicle key programming, residential rekeys, and lockouts. One of their key differentiators is their commitment to using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) products, which Shayne emphasized helps avoid the potential failures of aftermarket alternatives. “We use OEM products because aftermarket products actually have a higher chance of being faulty and end up costing more in the long run,” he said. This commitment to quality ensures that their customers can trust the products and services they receive.

In addition to their superior product choices, Mobile Locksmith Too operates with a high level of flexibility. While their regular business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Shayne is available for after-hours or weekend service calls for emergency situations or to accommodate customers’ schedules. “We work with customers on after-hours and weekend calls, especially because we know how difficult it can be for people with busy work schedules,” Shayne explained. Whether it’s a late-night lockout or an emergency rekey, Shayne ensures that customers are never left waiting.

While the transition to ownership wasn’t without its challenges, Shayne and Rick tackled the difficulties head-on. One of the significant hurdles they faced was advertising and getting the name out there. With the internet and social media growing it was a large task to get going. “We lost our Google account and had no advertising for about four months,” Shayne recounted. During that time, they relied on word-of-mouth referrals and Shayne’s efforts driving around town in their wrapped van with custom branding. Once they regained their online presence, and thanks to the visibility of the van, business picked up again, reinforcing the importance of visibility and customer reviews in a modern market.

Integrity, loyalty, and honesty are the core values that Shayne lives by in his work. He prioritizes transparency with his clients, ensuring they understand every step of the process. “I’m very honest with the customers, letting them know what the issue is and the best way to fix it,” he explained. This straightforward approach builds trust with customers, particularly when dealing with sensitive services like home or business rekeys. Shayne also invites clients to observe his work to alleviate any concerns about their security.

When it comes to responding to emergency calls, Shayne prides himself on his quick response time. He typically arrives within 20 minutes, depending on the location, and always provides an estimated arrival time based on GPS tracking. Even if he’s in the middle of another job, Shayne will prioritize emergency calls to ensure customers aren’t left stranded for too long.

As a business based in Pahrump, Mobile Locksmith Too serves not only the local community but also surrounding areas such as Amargosa, Beatty, and even remote locations when needed. Shayne takes pride in being the only locksmith willing to cover such a wide service area, although he emphasizes the importance of checking for specific service availability depending on location.

Shayne’s background in the military and medical fields has also played a significant role in shaping his approach to the business. His time in the Army taught him how to stay calm under pressure, a skill he uses daily when tackling challenging locksmith situations. His experience in the medical field also honed his customer service skills, allowing him to interact with clients in a respectful and understanding manner. “I’m very good at staying calm in the chaos,” he shared, explaining that this helps him approach complex lockouts or high-security locks with confidence and precision.

Looking ahead, Shayne hopes to expand his skills by learning more about safe cracking, a service that is in occasional demand. For now, though, he refers clients with safe-related requests to a trusted colleague, PJ Locksmith, while continuing to focus on the core services that keep his business thriving.

For anyone looking to hire a locksmith, Shayne advises potential customers to ensure they’re working with a professional who uses OEM products and arrives in a marked, well-equipped van. He emphasized that professionalism and transparency are key to ensuring a reliable service.

Shayne also shared a final piece of advice for aspiring business owners: “Do your homework, be prepared, and be professional. It’s important to have integrity, loyalty, and honesty, and that should set you apart.”

Mobile Locksmith Too may have started as a small family business, but with Shayne’s dedication to quality, honesty, and customer service, it has become a reliable go-to for locksmith needs in Pahrump and its surrounding areas. You can reach Shayne by calling or texting 📞 (775) 537-1434 or via Facebook, where the company maintains an active presence.

For Shayne, being a locksmith isn’t just about opening doors—it’s about building trust with every customer.
