The Pahrump Valley High School girls’ tennis team took on Boulder City on Thursday, September 26, falling 5-13 in a tough matchup. Despite the overall loss, the Trojans had some standout performances, with Alexis Staples dominating in her singles matches, going undefeated with a 3-0 record. Jemi Chavez and Abby Amador also battled hard, each securing one win to finish 1-2 in their matches.

Unfortunately, the doubles teams struggled against Boulder City, losing 0-9. Injuries played a role in the team’s performance, with several players pushing through while not at full strength.

“We had some girls who were injured and hurting, which definitely affected our play,” said Head Coach Michael DelaRosa. “We’re hoping to recover and train smart and hard next week before our playoff matches.”

Despite the loss, Coach DelaRosa remained positive, highlighting the team’s achievements throughout the season. “We’re all proud of our boys and girls for achieving the best record the school’s tennis team has had,” he added.

With playoffs on the horizon, the Trojans are focused on recovery and preparation, ready to make a strong run in the postseason.
