The PVHS Girls’ Soccer teams delivered impressive performances against the Mojave Rattlers on Wednesday, August 28th, showcasing their skills and determination on the field.
The Junior Varsity (JV) team continued their strong season with a commanding 3-0 victory over the Rattlers. Rosie Miller led the charge for the Trojans, scoring two goals and demonstrating her offensive prowess. Cindal Monahan added to the scoreline with a spectacular penalty kick from the 30-yard line. The JV team’s performance was a testament to their strength as a team. “The team is progressing each game as they learn the game and how to play together,” Coach Amy Carlson noted, highlighting the development and unity among the players.
The Varsity team also had a successful outing, starting the match with an early goal by Sydney Crotty, setting a positive tone for the Trojans. However, Mojave responded swiftly, and the first half concluded with a 1-1 tie. Undeterred, the Trojans emerged from halftime with renewed vigor and determination, dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities. Their relentless efforts paid off, and the game ended with a 4-1 victory for PVHS. Shae Boucher, Natalie Soto, and Ryleigh Denton each contributed goals, showcasing the team’s offensive depth.
The second half was particularly impressive as the Trojans found their rhythm and displayed increased confidence on the field. They controlled the game, made excellent passes, and took several shots that narrowly missed the target. “We have a lot of work still to do, but today was a win well deserved,” Coach Carlson said, acknowledging both the team’s success and the areas for improvement.
Overall, it was a triumphant day for the PVHS Girls’ Soccer teams, who continue to build on their skills and teamwork.
