The Pahrump Valley High School (PVHS) Cross Country team competed at the Bud O’Dea Frosh-Soph Championship held at Desert Breeze Park on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, showcasing strong performances from both freshmen and sophomore runners. Several athletes medaled, marking a successful outing for the Trojans.
In the Freshmen Girls’ race, KeeLee Gieni led the way for PVHS, finishing 23rd with a time of 21:41.9, earning a medal for her efforts. Kimberly Trejo placed 43rd, crossing the line at 25:12.1, while Ella Odegard finished 53rd with a time of 27:05.3.
For the Sophomore Girls, Alexis Clouser was the top performer for PVHS, finishing 27th and medaling with a time of 21:15.2. Sophie Romero followed closely behind, securing 36th place with a time of 22:37.3.
The Freshmen Boys’ race saw standout performances from Joshua Flores, who finished 17th with a time of 16:50.2, securing a medal. Daniel Thompson and Joshua Gent finished back-to-back in 31st and 32nd places, with times of 17:52.9 and 17:54.0, respectively. Tanner Gott placed 47th with a time of 19:25.6, while Ethan Johnson and Keldan Frederiksen rounded out the group, finishing with times of 21:57.9 and 22:55.9.
On the Sophomore Boys’ side, Joaquin Flores delivered an impressive run, finishing 20th and medaling with a time of 16:17.4. Logan Tilley placed 33rd at 17:01.9, and Jacob Seeback took 45th with a time of 17:44.5. Nathan Miller and Noah Flores completed the PVHS lineup with times of 19:03.5 and 20:19.0, finishing 60th and 70th, respectively.
Overall, the PVHS Cross Country team put forth a strong showing at the Bud O’Dea Frosh-Soph Championship. With only a few meets left until Regionals, the team is working on focus and endurance for the tough Regionals and State course in Boulder City.
