NyECC Now Accepting Nominations for Volunteer Recognition Awards

Every day across Pahrump and Nye County, volunteers quietly step forward to make a difference. They are the helping hands behind community programs, the advocates for local families, the protectors of animals, and the stewards of the desert environment. Their dedication often happens behind the scenes—but on May 16, those efforts will take center stage.

NyE Communities Coalition (NyECC) is inviting the community to come together for HOPE RISES: Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, a special event designed not only to celebrate these impactful individuals and groups, but also to support the continued growth of programs that serve the region.

The luncheon will shine a spotlight on the volunteers who form the backbone of NyECC’s work. From health and wellness initiatives to prevention and workforce programs, these efforts rely heavily on community members who give their time and energy to help others. HOPE RISES serves as both a moment of recognition and a meaningful fundraiser to ensure these programs can continue reaching those who need them most.

As part of the celebration, NyECC is calling on the community to help identify and honor those who are making a difference. Nominations are now open for the Volunteer Recognition Awards, offering an opportunity to recognize individuals, organizations, and service groups whose contributions may otherwise go unnoticed.

The awards span a wide range of service areas, reflecting the many ways volunteers contribute to the community. Categories include:

    • Hope Rocks Award
    • Desert Sage Award
    • Community Champion Award
    • Youth Community Champion Award
    • Paws and Claws Guardian Award
    • Community Hero Award
    • Steadfast Service Award
    • Recruitment Catalyst Award
    • Corporate Citizenship Excellence Award
    • Faith in Action Excellence Award
    • Service Club Excellence Award

Whether it’s someone who dedicates time to caring for animals, works to preserve the natural beauty of the desert, or consistently shows up through a local service club, NyECC is encouraging residents to submit nominations and help ensure these efforts are recognized.

The nomination deadline is April 15, giving community members a limited window to highlight the individuals and groups who make a lasting impact.

Those interested in submitting a nomination or learning more about the award categories can visit nyecc.org or refer to the nomination materials provided by NyECC. For additional information, community members can also contact Megan Mapes or Stacy Smith at (775) 727-9970 ext. 250, or via email at megan@nyecc.org or stacy@nyecc.org.

As the HOPE RISES luncheon approaches, the message is clear: the strength of the community lies in the people who give back. This event offers a chance to celebrate those contributions while ensuring that NyECC’s vital programs continue to grow, support, and inspire for years to come.
