The Nye County School District (NCSD) Transportation Department is excited to announce a significant enhancement to its student bus tracking system. The new platform, “StopFinder,” will replace the “Here Comes the Bus” app, providing parents and guardians with real-time information about their child’s bus route, including estimated arrival times and notifications of any delays. The upgraded app will be available a few weeks after the school year begins.
“This upgrade reflects our commitment to providing families with the most convenient and reliable tools for tracking their child’s transportation,” said Michael Hush, NCSD Transportation Director. “We look forward to sharing more details about ‘StopFinder’ with our community soon.”
While parent satisfaction was high with the “Here Comes the Bus” system, the switch to “StopFinder” was necessitated by the previous company’s struggles with support and incomplete back-end tools. “StopFinder” is part of TransFinder, a system already in use for providing information about zoning and bus stops.
The new app will first roll out in Pahrump during the first quarter of the year. Due to the unique logistics of the district’s four-day schools, NCSD is working on an implementation plan for a future release. A separate notification will be sent out once “StopFinder” is active and available for download.
