This past weekend, from September 19-22, Pahrump once again celebrated its rich history and community spirit with the Annual Fall Festival. Originally launched on September 5, 1964, as the Harvest Festival, the event began as a small gathering where local farmers celebrated the valley’s cotton and alfalfa harvest. Cars and horses lined up at the edge of town to sell goods and mark the start of the autumn season with a barbecue.
Today, the Fall Festival has grown into one of Pahrump’s largest and most highly anticipated annual events. Hosted by the Town of Pahrump, the festival brings together thousands of attendees, offering activities and entertainment for all ages. The carnival and midway are major attractions, featuring thrilling rides and games that delight festivalgoers year after year.
A vast array of vendors filled the festival grounds, offering everything from handmade crafts and art to delectable food, creating a bustling marketplace atmosphere. The festival also kept tradition alive with two nights of exhilarating rodeo action, showcasing the skills of cowboys and cowgirls and celebrating Pahrump’s ranching heritage.
Live entertainment added to the festive spirit, with local performers of all kinds gracing the stage, ensuring that the energy remained high throughout the weekend.
The Pahrump Fall Festival continues to be a cornerstone of community life, uniting locals and visitors alike in a celebration that blends tradition with modern-day fun. Decades after its inception, the festival remains a testament to the enduring spirit of Pahrump, reflecting both its agricultural roots and its lively, growing community.
