Since 1995, Kat McArtor has been a fixture in the Pahrump community. With a career spanning several industries, including dentistry and the hotel business, Kat’s journey to becoming an aestheticians is as unique as the services she offers, filled with personal and professional transformations. Kat was exploring nursing school with a focus on cardiology when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was planning to begin school when her treatment was complete, however, a long waitlist and a deep personal experience during chemotherapy led her to explore the field of skincare. She began to research ways to care for her own skin and the skin of others who had endured trauma, such as severe burns. “I started to deep dive into the skincare world and thought this might be fun,” Kat explains. This curiosity blossomed into a passion, prompting Kat to pursue a career in aesthetics.

Kat completed her aesthetics training in 2008 and immediately began working in various environments, including a med spa/dental office and her own studio. Today, she operates her own business, Aesthetics by Kat, located within Enhanced Aesthetics and Wellness Med Spa in Pahrump at 2161 S NV Hwy 160 and was recently named Top 25 Estheticians of Las Vegas by Soeleish Las Vegas Magazine. Her studio is a haven for those seeking both relaxation and advanced skincare treatments. “I specialize in age enhancement, helping clients to enhance what they have and not change who they are,” Kat shares. Her approach focuses on softening fine lines, diminishing dark spots, tightening, and toning the skin, allowing her clients to maintain a natural and youthful appearance.

With a comprehensive suite of certifications, including Oncology Spa Solutions, Dadashie and Face Reality Acne Training, and numerous others in advanced treatments like microneedling and micro-channeling, Kat is well-equipped to handle a variety of skincare needs. “I believe in an internal and external approach to skincare,” Kat notes. “It’s about what you eat, how you exercise, and what you put on your skin.”

Kat’s dedication to her craft is evident in the personalized care she offers each client. Every appointment begins with a thorough assessment of the client’s skin condition, lifestyle, and goals. “Each time a client comes in, it’s a new day,” she says. “I talk with them about how their skin is feeling, what products they’re using, and what changes they might have noticed. It’s a collaborative process to ensure they get the best results.”

Aesthetics by Kat offers a wide range of products, including high-quality brands like Circadia, Epicutis, HydroPeptide, and The Perfect Derma Peel Skincare. Kat’s selection process for these products is meticulous, involving extensive research and testing. “I like being the guinea pig, or making my husband be the guinea pig” Kat laughs. “If it works, I introduce it to my clientele. If it doesn’t, it’s back to the drawing board.”

In addition to her in-depth knowledge of skincare, Kat stays updated on the latest trends and advancements in the industry through a mentorship group for aestheticians. This group meets twice a year and maintains regular communication, providing a support network for exchanging ideas and discussing new treatments and products. “Once I find something that I believe would benefit my clientele, I research it thoroughly before introducing it to them,” she says.

Kat also emphasizes the importance of a foundational skincare routine, recommending a good cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF as the “big three” essentials for maintaining healthy skin. For clients with sensitive skin or conditions like acne and rosacea, Kat takes a holistic approach, considering factors such as diet, lifestyle, and current skincare products.

Looking ahead, Kat is excited about expanding her service offerings to include new treatments like facial and buccal massage. “This treatment is great for lifting and sculpting facial muscles, as well as relieving jaw tension and TMJ pain,” she explains.

To experience the personalized skincare treatments offered by Kat, scheduling an appointment is easy and flexible. Clients can reach out to Aesthetics by Kat through the website at www.aestheticsbykat.com, where they can explore available services and book their session online. Alternatively, appointments can be made via phone or text at 📞 702-325-1940. With business hours from Tuesday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and two Saturdays a month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., there are plenty of opportunities to find a time that works best for you. Kat is ready to help you achieve your skincare goals and enhance your natural beauty.
