From ER Nurse to Aesthetic Innovator – Sherry Cipollini Redefines Beauty and Wellness in Pahrump with Enhanced Aesthetics and Wellness

Sherry Cipollini, the driving force behind Enhanced Aesthetics and Wellness, has been a nurse for 18 years, primarily working in emergency rooms. Her experience as an ER staff nurse, charge nurse, and manager shaped her desire to shift from traditional medicine to aesthetics and wellness. “Healthcare is so broken right now,” Sherry shares, highlighting her frustration with the limitations of corporate healthcare. Determined to create a more fulfilling and patient-centered practice, she launched Enhanced Aesthetics and Wellness in 2016, officially opening her own storefront in August 2020.

Originally running her business as Aesthetic Enhancements out of Reflections, Sherry transitioned to her own space to offer a broader range of services and ensure she had the staffing and supplies necessary to meet patient needs. “I knew I wanted to do something with aesthetics and have my own business,” Sherry recalls. “I used to joke and tell people at the hospital that my goal was to make Pahrump hairless through laser hair removal,  but it took me a long time to make the decision to go down this path. I have had an incredible amount of support and understanding from my family and friends.  That gave me the strength I needed to take the leap and open my own office in 2020. Without so many cheerleaders in my life, I do not think I would have ever been brave enough to do this.”

Enhanced Aesthetics and Wellness focuses on various treatments, including skincare, Botox, fillers, laser treatments, microneedling, hormone optimization, and weight management. Botox and fillers are popular services aimed at reducing wrinkles and restoring volume. Laser treatments and microneedling are employed to improve skin texture, fine lines, and tightness. Additionally, the clinic provides hormone replacement therapy for both men and women, aiding in hormone optimization. “We do weight management, a lot of coaching to help people be successful in their goals,” Sherry adds. Her team also handles IV hydration and vitamin therapy, emphasizing overall wellness.

Sherry’s approach to primary care is evolving due to the frustrations with health insurance. “I did primary care for a long time, but I’m stepping away from that primarily because of the frustrations with health insurance and the difficulty with reimbursement and getting services approved,” she explains. The shift allows her to focus more on aesthetics and wellness services, providing a more satisfying experience for both her and her patients.

The team at Enhanced Aesthetics and Wellness includes dedicated professionals like Michelle Alfaro, a medical assistant who has been with Sherry for years and is described as Sherry’s “right arm.” Other team members include Bev Walker, who handles administrative tasks and patient rooming, Breeana Peterson, another medical assistant, and Shawna Apostolec, an RN specializing in injections, laser hair removal, and microneedling treatments. Shawna is also pursuing her nurse practitioner license to offer more services. Amy Estrella, an advanced aesthetician, performs hair removal, microneedling, and tattoo removal. And Tamara Trudeau who handles pre-authorizations and referrals. Together, they create a supportive and responsive environment for their patients.

The clinic also offers services from Jamie Schneider of Pure Bliss Massage and Kat McCartor, an advanced aesthetician. Both professionals rent space from Sherry, adding to the variety of services available under one roof. Sherry is also honored to be next door to Suzie Wulfenstein and her team at Honey&Sage.  Sherry and Suzie shared space at the original location and have supported each other through their growth transitions over the past 4 years and decided that moving to the new location would allow each of their businesses more opportunity to increase service offerings to our amazing town.  Empowering other women and seeing their businesses succeed is very important to Sherry.

One of the biggest challenges Sherry faced was starting her business during the COVID-19 pandemic. Delays in construction and supply chain issues were significant hurdles, but she persevered. Her efforts have paid off, with the business growing steadily every year. “I have steadily grown gross sales by at least 30% every year since I’ve started,” she proudly states. From a small team and a fourteen hundred square foot space, the clinic has expanded to seven employees and a twenty-eight hundred square foot facility, serving more than fifteen hundred patients.

Sherry is committed to giving back to the community, sponsoring multiple local events and teams, volunteering at the Remote Area Medical (RAM) event, and providing women’s health services at no cost to the patient, through a grant from the Nye Communities Coalition. Sherry is also on the Board for Nevada Outreach and No to Abuse. Her dedication to improving patient lives is evident in her approach to care. “Seeing the difference that it makes in my patients…that’s the most rewarding aspect,” she shares. “I have patients come in here and tell me that I have changed their lives because I listened to them and addressed something that had been ignored for years and years and years.”

The clinic also features a range of high-quality skincare products tailored to address specific concerns. They offer three different lines of skincare: a private label line obtained through a compounding pharmacy, Alastin, and ZO Skin Health. These products focus on anti-aging and repairing damaged skin, essential for the desert climate where the clinic operates. “We develop treatment plans based on what your needs are and choose products from each line to address your concerns,” Sherry explains.

Enhanced Aesthetics and Wellness offers a membership program for $150 a month, which goes directly into the patient’s account for services or products, with discounts on most services and a free monthly B12 shot. They are a cash-based practice, ensuring they can spend the necessary time with each patient without the constraints of insurance reimbursement rates. “The majority of our services are cash pay,” Sherry explains. “The reimbursement on insurance has become so low that I cannot sustain a business with the amount of money that they’re willing to pay.”

Sherry’s advice for aspiring business owners is straightforward: “Find a mentor that is in that field and pick their brain.” She emphasizes the importance of understanding the full picture before starting a business and is open to sharing her own experiences to help others succeed.

Enhanced Aesthetics and Wellness stands out for its personalized approach, commitment to patient care, and a wide range of services tailored to meet individual needs. Sherry Cipollini’s journey from ER nurse to business owner exemplifies her dedication to creating a positive impact in her community through aesthetics and wellness. For those interested in exploring the services offered, Sherry encourages scheduling a free consultation. “We do free consultations, we’ll take the time to explain things to you,” she says. “I will never try to sell you something you don’t need.” With a focus on patient satisfaction and comprehensive care, Enhanced Aesthetics and Wellness is poised to continue its growth and success in the Pahrump community.
