The Pahrump Valley High School track and field team returned to the top of the podium Friday, May 1, successfully defending its Small Schools team title at the Boulder City Invitational. The Trojans matched last year’s success with another first-place finish, backed by a full meet of strong performances, personal bests, and record-setting efforts.
Leading the way individually, Jayden Crisler earned the Men’s Top Performer Award, while Jules Ondrisko was named the Women’s Top Performer, highlighting a dominant showing across both sides of the roster.


The meet opened with the 4×800-meter relays, where both Trojan teams set the tone early. The boys team of Jace Wulfenstein, Logan Tilley, Daniel Thompson and Joaquin Flores captured first place in 8:51.74, while the girls team of Ava Bowers, Rosie Miller, Alexis Clouser and Addi Nelsen matched that effort with a first-place finish in 10:48.97.


In the hurdles, Ulisses Alvarez led the boys with a third-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles at 19.67, while Manny Dupart posted a personal best of 20.90. On the girls side, Diona Nixon claimed first in the 100-meter hurdles at 17.62, followed closely by Ella Odegard, who took second with a personal best of 17.89.
The sprints continued to build momentum for the Trojans. Ben De Santiago finished third in the boys 100-meter dash at 11.33, while Aeden Redditt (11.69) and Kelan Sheppard (12.91) both turned in personal bests. For the girls, Anjolina Mercado placed second with a personal best 13.09, while Christine Williams and Dyana Castro added solid runs.
Both 4×200-meter relay teams delivered runner-up finishes, with the boys clocking 1:36.04 and the girls finishing in 1:53.65.
Distance events proved to be another major strength. Joaquin Flores highlighted the boys 1600-meter run with a first-place finish in 4:34.30, a personal best that also set a new meet record. Logan Tilley added a third-place finish, while Azael Machuca contributed as well. On the girls side, Sophie Romero placed second with a personal best 6:07.88, and Alexis Clouser followed with a strong effort.






The boys 4×100-meter relay team of Justin Byers, Alvarez, Redditt and Wulfenstein raced to first in 45.80, while the girls team placed fourth.
In the 400-meter dash, Kris Trejo and Kelan Sheppard ran well for the boys, while Ondrisko dominated the girls race, taking first in 1:01.61. Addi Nelsen, McKinsey Nottingham and Avery Farruggia all added depth with strong times, including multiple personal bests.
The 300-meter hurdles showcased one of the meet’s most dominant stretches for the Trojans. Crisler took first in the boys race at 43.73, with Alvarez second and Dupart fourth, both earning personal bests. Trejo added another solid finish. In the girls race, Ondrisko led a sweep of the top three spots, followed by Nixon and Odegard, with Kyndra Cardwell also contributing.



The middle-distance races continued the Trojans’ success. De Santiago won the boys 800-meter run with a personal best 2:01.28, while Flores placed second with a personal best of his own. Ondrisko added another victory in the girls 800 at 2:35.96, with Ava Bowers taking fourth and additional contributions from Miller and Farruggia.
In the 200-meter dash, Redditt, Byers and Rene Gonzalez Valdez each posted personal bests for the boys. Mercado led the girls with a third-place finish and personal best 27.25, while Cindal Monahan, Williams and Melanie Carson rounded out the group.
The 3200-meter runs closed out the distance events, with Machuca competing for the boys. On the girls side, Romero placed second, followed by Nelsen in third and Clouser in fourth with a personal best, while Kimberly Trejo also achieved a personal best.



The final event on the track, the 4×400-meter relay, saw the boys team take second in 3:47.22, while the girls team of Nottingham, Aurora Bowers, Odegard and Ondrisko capped the day with a first-place finish in 4:23.88.




In the field events, Sonny Skinner led the boys in shot put with a second-place throw of 44 feet, 8.5 inches, while several teammates added personal bests. Julie Briggs paced the girls with a personal best throw in shot put and also placed fifth in discus. Brenden Thorn secured second in boys discus, with multiple Trojans contributing solid marks across both divisions.








In the jumps, Rosie Miller placed third in girls high jump, while Kris Trejo tied for fourth in the boys competition. Crisler added to his standout day in the long jump with a fourth-place finish and dominated the triple jump with a first-place leap of 41 feet, 3.5 inches. Savannah Thompson led the girls triple jump with a fourth-place finish.


From relays to distance, hurdles to field events, the Trojans delivered a complete team performance that once again placed them at the top of the Small Schools division, reinforcing their depth and consistency as they continue to build toward the postseason.
