The Pahrump Valley High School track and field team hosted its final home meet of the season on Thursday, April 16, combining a full slate of competition with a meaningful Senior Night celebration that recognized one of the program’s largest graduating classes.
Before the first event began, seniors Manager Delaney Abbatte, Ulisses Alvarez, Julie Briggs, Kyndra Cardwell, Dyana Castro, Jayden Crisler, Ben De Santiago, Sam Grabbe, Akim Khan, Diona Nixon, Jules Ondrisko, Citlaly Ruvalcaba, Joseph Scheer, Sonny Skinner, Josh Slusher, Timmy Stutzman, Savannah Thompson, Brenden Thorn, Aydon Veloz and Jace Wulfenstein were honored alongside their families. Head Coach Dan Nagle reflected on the group’s impact, sharing that the large senior class will be deeply missed both for their talent and their leadership, while also expressing excitement to see what lies ahead for them after graduation.




















Once competition began, the Trojans worked through the running events in order, opening with the boys 4×800 relay where Josh Flores, Timmy Stutzman, Kris Trejo and Daniel Thompson posted a time of 10:13.44. In the hurdles, Ulisses Alvarez turned in a standout performance in the boys 110m hurdles, finishing second overall with a personal best 19.29. The girls followed with a strong showing in the 100m hurdles, where Diona Nixon won the event in 18.05, Ella Odegard placed second in 19.31 and Kyndra Cardwell took third in 20.32, while Dyana Castro added a personal best 22.40.
The 100m dash featured a large group of Trojans on both sides. Evan Strain led the boys with a personal best 12.60, followed by Cade Wulfenstein (12.95), Hunter Wydick (12.97), Joseph Scheer (13.02), Juan Carlos Rodriguez with a personal best 13.57, Tyler Weaver with a personal best 14.14 and Trenton Linn at 14.81. On the girls side, Anjolina Mercado finished second overall in 13.58 and Ma’liyah Collins placed third in 13.60, while McKinsey Nottingham ran a personal best 14.38, K’Lynn Butler added a personal best 14.82, Avery Farruggia ran 15.31, Juliana Turco posted a personal best 15.33, Melanie Carson finished in 15.68, Jayda Camden ran 15.71, Dyana Castro crossed in 16.02, Sophia Rojas recorded a personal best 16.06, Citlaly Ruvalcaba added a personal best 16.27, Daniela Abarca-Franco ran a personal best 16.78, Giselle Rodriguez-Alvarez finished in 17.52, Kaylie Abrego posted a personal best 17.86 and Tianna Beaver finished in 18.26.
In the 1600m run, Timmy Stutzman led the boys with a time of 5:38.19 to place fourth overall, followed by Azael Machuca (6:00.38), Sam Grabbe with a personal best 6:04.83, Alexander Martinez with a personal best 6:07.08, Ethan Johnson (6:53.99), Manny Dupart (6:54.01) and Isaiah Veloz (7:34.31). Jules Ondrisko took first place in the girls 1600m with a time of 6:12.08.






The boys 4×100 relay team of Jayden Crisler, Jace Wulfenstein, Josh Slusher and Ben De Santiago ran 45.09, while the girls team of Diona Nixon, Dyana Castro, Kyndra Cardwell and Jules Ondrisko finished in 55.98.

In the 400m dash, Kelan Sheppard ran a personal best 58.79, Hunter Wydick followed with a personal best 59.14, Sam Grabbe added another personal best at 1:06.74, Tyler Weaver ran a personal best 1:06.83 and Trenton Linn finished in 1:07.54. On the girls side, Cindal Monahan ran 1:10.22, McKinsey Nottingham finished in 1:12.84, Daniela Abarca-Franco recorded a personal best 1:17.83, Sophia Rojas added a personal best 1:19.80, Patience Moore ran a personal best 1:19.91, Giselle Rodriguez-Alvarez posted a personal best 1:26.74, Bella Cinelli ran a personal best 1:29.22 and Anna Cinelli added a personal best 1:41.39.
The 300m hurdles saw Manny Dupart take first place with a personal best 52.66, with Logan Whaley just behind at a personal best 52.76. Jules Ondrisko continued her strong day by winning the girls race in 49.99, while Diona Nixon finished second in 52.05 and Dyana Castro crossed in 1:06.79.


In the 800m run, Daniel Thompson led the boys with a time of 2:17.60, followed by Ethan Johnson in 3:06.27. For the girls, McKinsey Nottingham ran 3:08.70, Bella Cinelli recorded a personal best 3:41.42 and Anna Cinelli added a personal best 3:53.29.

The 200m dash highlighted another top finish, with Ben De Santiago winning the boys race in a personal best 22.74. Evan Strain added a personal best 25.37, Joseph Scheer ran 25.82, Cade Wulfenstein posted a personal best 26.34, Hunter Wydick added a personal best 26.71, Kelan Sheppard finished in 27.42, Juan Carlos Rodriguez recorded a personal best 27.53, Alexander Martinez ran 28.49, Trenton Linn finished in 29.66 and Sam Grabbe crossed in 31.40. On the girls side, McKinsey Nottingham ran a personal best 30.57, K’Lynn Butler followed with a personal best 30.85, Avery Farruggia finished in 31.15, Cindal Monahan ran 31.33, Melanie Carson recorded a season best 32.26, Jayda Camden posted a personal best 32.82, Citlaly Ruvalcaba added a personal best 33.67, Daniela Abarca-Franco ran 34.33, Sophia Rojas recorded a personal best 34.49, Patience Moore finished in 34.67, Giselle Rodriguez-Alvarez ran 37.08, Kaylie Abrego finished in 38.39 and Tianna Beaver crossed in 39.75.










In the 3200m run, Timmy Stutzman recorded a personal best 12:18.03, while Ethan Johnson finished in 15:31.40 and Isaiah Veloz added a personal best 16:01.05.
In the field events, Sonny Skinner led the way by winning both the boys shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 3 inches and the discus with a mark of 134 feet. The throws group saw multiple personal bests, including Taysom Christensen (32’ 5”), Julio Ackerman (32’ 4”), Lucas Silva (27’ 1”), Joseph Kirkpatrick (23’ 11”) and Salvador Banuelos (23’ 3”) in shot put, while in discus Chasen Hamann recorded a personal best 120’ 5” to place second, with additional personal bests from Juan Carlos Rodriguez (101’ 5”), Julio Ackerman (93’ 11”), Taysom Christensen (73’ 4”), Lucas Silva (68’ 10”), Ace Blumer (68’ 3”), Salvador Banuelos (67’ 1”) and Joseph Kirkpatrick (61’ 7”). For the girls, Chanel Thorn (25’ 2”) and Kaitlyn Brown (73’ 1”) highlighted the throws, with Julie Briggs (72’ 6”) and Nyomi Skinner (59’ 9”) also contributing.






In the pole vault, Jayden Crisler cleared 9’ 6” and Joseph Scheer cleared 7’ 6”, while Kyndra Cardwell cleared 6’ 6” and Citlaly Ruvalcaba cleared 5’ for the girls. In the long jump, Kelan Sheppard jumped 14’ 7” and Ethan Johnson recorded 13’ 8”, while Savannah Thompson matched the top mark on the girls side at 14’ 7”, with Melanie Carson (12’ 5”) and Juliana Turco (12’ 4”) both recording personal bests. The triple jump saw Crisler post a season best 44’ 6.5”, Daniel Thompson jump 34’ 10” and Savannah Thompson finish at 24’ 2”.





With their final home meet complete, the Trojans now turn their attention to the remainder of the regular season, with several meets still ahead to continue building toward regionals.
