Charleston Peak Winery Ushers in a New Era for Southern Nevada Wine Lovers

Charleston Peak Winery, the newly reimagined destination at 3810 Winery Rd. in Pahrump, is making its mark on Southern Nevada’s wine scene with a bold approach to winemaking and hospitality. Formerly known as Pahrump Valley Winery, the nearly nine-acre estate has quietly transformed under new ownership and reopened with fresh energy, a renowned winemaker, and a thoughtfully curated guest experience that blends high-desert elegance with small-batch craftsmanship.

At the heart of the transformation is winemaker Steven Bowen, whose experience with acclaimed Napa Valley producers Jessup Cellars and Handwritten Wines brings a refined yet adventurous approach to Nevada viticulture. Working alongside vineyard management company Bolton Vines, led by Austin Bolton, Bowen is committed to producing estate-grown varietals that reflect the distinct challenges and beauty of the Mojave Desert.

Charleston Peak’s current wine portfolio showcases this unique terroir with selections like Symphony Peak, a crisp and floral white wine with bright citrus notes and a clean finish; Symphony Moon, a slightly off-dry white that highlights tropical fruit and white flower aromatics; and a White Zinfandel Rosé, vibrant and richly layered with red berry flavors and a refreshing, dry finish. The Amargosa Blend offers a bold, full-bodied red with notes of dark fruit, spice, and toasted oak, while the Estate Sparkling Wine — the first of its kind in Nevada — delivers bright fruit, fine bubbles, and subtle minerality using the méthode traditionnelle.

Visitors to Charleston Peak Winery can enjoy guided tastings in a newly renovated 1,450-square-foot tasting room that blends rustic warmth with modern sophistication. Large windows frame sweeping mountain views, and shaded patios extend the experience outdoors. Each paid tasting includes a complimentary Charleston Peak Winery glass to take home, and customizable pairings — including wine and chocolate flights — offer unique flavor combinations such as a dark ganache with the Amargosa Blend or a floral Riesling paired with Aleppo pepper and pineapple ganache.

Enhancing the tasting experience is a menu of light fare provided by AMARI Italian Kitchen & Wine Shop, the winery’s award-winning sister restaurant located at UnCommons in Las Vegas. Offerings include savory selections such as beef and pork meatballs, salumi and cheese boards with seasonal mostarda, focaccia panini, and cheese pizza with optional gourmet toppings like soppressata or Calabrese. A variety of snacks — including wine chips, cocktail nuts, Rogue jerky, and wine-inspired popcorn — are also available.

For those looking to deepen their connection with the winery, Charleston Peak’s Wine Societies offer tiered membership benefits, including 20 percent off all wines, 10 percent off food and merchandise, early access to new releases, and invitations to exclusive events.

Charleston Peak Winery is open for tastings Thursday through Monday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.charlestonpeakwinery.com, call (775) 751-7800, or follow @charlestonpeakwinery on Facebook and Instagram.
