Fresh off capturing the Pahrump Valley Little League Minor Division championship, the AAA Twins took the field in Las Vegas on Thursday, May 28 for the Tournament of Champions, earning the opportunity to represent Pahrump against strong competition and closing out an impressive season with another valuable experience together.
The Twins came out aggressively in the opening inning and showed they belonged on the Tournament of Champions stage right from the start.
After an early strikeout, Santiago A reached on a walk and immediately put pressure on the defense by stealing second. Giovanni N followed with another walk to give Pahrump multiple runners aboard. River M then delivered the Twins’ first big moment of the day, sending a ground ball back through the middle that brought Santiago home for the game’s first run and gave Pahrump an early 1-0 lead.

The Twins continued creating opportunities on the bases as Giovanni advanced to third and River moved into scoring position, while Luke M later worked another walk to load up additional pressure before the inning came to a close.
Defensively, River took the ball to start for Pahrump and opened with a strikeout to record the first out of the bottom half. Giovanni also made a strong defensive play at third base to help contain early action. The opponent eventually responded with timely hitting and aggressive baserunning to move in front after the first inning.

In the second inning, the Twins continued battling at the plate despite facing tough pitching. Jovanny C, Bentley G and Gabriel R each competed through their at-bats as the team continued looking for momentum.
Defensively, Gabriel contributed with a groundout at second base during the inning, and Pahrump stayed engaged despite additional offensive pressure from their opponent. Oliver D entered in relief and immediately recorded a strikeout to close the frame and settle things down heading into the third.
The third inning provided another highlight moment for the Twins.
Leading off the inning, Andrew T turned on a pitch and launched an inside-the-park home run, racing all the way around to energize the dugout and cut into the deficit. The play showcased the hustle and determination the team had shown throughout its championship season.

Later in the inning, Giovanni again reached base with a walk and stayed aggressive, stealing second and eventually working his way home to score another run for Pahrump. River added another free pass to continue the pressure before the inning ended.
Back in the field, the Twins continued making plays and staying focused. Oliver collected another strikeout, Santiago handled action at shortstop, Bentley contributed in center field and the defense worked through a challenging offensive inning while continuing to compete until the final out.

The fourth inning saw the Twins continue putting together quality at-bats and fighting for opportunities, refusing to let the scoreboard change their approach.
At the plate, River finished with a hit and an RBI while Andrew supplied the team’s other hit with his inside-the-park home run. Giovanni reached base multiple times and scored once, while Santiago added a run scored and showed aggressiveness on the basepaths. The team also drew five walks and recorded several stolen bases throughout the contest.
On the mound, River started the game and Oliver came in to provide relief work, with both pitchers continuing to attack hitters and battle through difficult situations.

Although the Tournament of Champions run came to an end with a 14-3 final score, the result did little to diminish what the AAA Twins accomplished this season. Reaching the Tournament of Champions meant the team had already established itself as the top Minor Division team in Pahrump, and the experience of competing against another district champion provided another opportunity for growth.
The Twins close the year as Pahrump Valley Little League Minor Division champions with memories, lessons and postseason experience that will continue helping them as they move forward in their baseball journeys.
