The Pahrump Valley High School boys’ tennis team gave it their all in a close match against Coral Academy on Wednesday, September 17, but came up just short in a narrow 10-8 defeat.
Despite the final score, the Trojans had several standout performances. Singles player Lucas Johnson was a force on the court, sweeping all three of his matches to deliver crucial points for Pahrump. Fellow singles competitor Jace Eichner added two wins, while Sonny Skinner fought through a tough lineup to claim another set for the Trojans.

In doubles play, the team of Bryce Dykstra and Juan Rodriguez came away with a set victory, while the duo of Ethan Johnson and Nick Watson also contributed a key win. The Trojans’ third doubles team faced a more experienced Coral Academy lineup and, despite their best efforts, were edged out in their sets.

Though the scoreboard favored Coral Academy, the determination and effort shown by the Trojans did not go unnoticed. “It was a hard-fought match and we just fell short,” the team shared. “We are proud of how our players competed and gave their best effort.”
The Trojans will look to build on this strong showing as they continue through their season, taking the lessons learned from this match into future contests.
