The Pahrump Valley High School boys’ varsity soccer team earned a 3–1 victory over Cristo Rey St. Viator on Tuesday, Sept. 29, on the road, with Ryan Nunez Manzo scoring twice and Samuel Mendoza adding a goal.
The Trojans recorded 18 shots, with eight players contributing attempts. Nunez Manzo finished with two goals on two shots, while Mendoza also made his lone attempt count. Their scoring helped Pahrump turn contributions from throughout the lineup into a road victory.
TC Hone and Rafael Sanchez Veliz each recorded an assist. Hone also led the Trojans with five shots, contributing both as a scoring threat and by helping create an opportunity for a teammate.
Roberto Gonzalez-Gonzalez added three shots, while Randall Pangilinan, Sanchez Veliz and Lorenzo Montaño each recorded two. Rene Gonzalez Valdez contributed one attempt, rounding out Pahrump’s offensive totals.

The Trojans also collected eight steals. Hone led that category with three, followed by Jessie Barajas-Roman with two. Sanchez Veliz, Gonzalez-Gonzalez and Gonzalez Valdez each added one, giving Pahrump several players who contributed to winning possession back.
Freshman goalkeeper Jakob Riggs recorded 13 saves, providing a significant contribution at the other end of the field. With Cristo Rey finishing with one goal, Riggs’ work in net complemented the Trojans’ three-goal offensive effort.
Pahrump’s result reflected contributions across the field, from efficient finishing by Nunez Manzo and Mendoza to assists, recovered possessions and saves. The Trojans left Cristo Rey with a win built on more than one part of their lineup.
