The Pahrump Valley High School cross country teams continued their standout season on Saturday, October 18, at the Coaches Association Invitational held at Cornerstone Park in Henderson. With evening races at 5:00, 5:30, and 6:00 p.m., the Trojans showed unity, endurance and competitive drive all divisions—earning first place overall finishes for both the boys’ and girls’ varsity teams.
In the boys’ 2A/3A varsity race, the Trojans put together a commanding performance. Josh Gent led the way with a fifth-place overall finish, clocking in at 17:43. Close behind was Joaquin Flores in sixth with a time of 17:50, while Aydon Veloz secured a top-ten finish in 18:30, setting a new season record (SR). Timmy Stutzman (12th, 18:46) and Ben De Santiago (13th, 18:47) worked in tandem through the middle of the pack, maintaining the team’s scoring advantage. Josh Flores (18:50), Daniel Thompson (19:27), and Kris Trejo (19:50, PR) followed with strong performances, with Jacob McLaughlin (20:29, SR) and Akim Khan (22:05, SR) rounded out the lineup with solid finishes. The collective effort propelled the Trojans to a first-place team finish in their division.






The girls’ 2A/3A varsity team matched that excellence, clinching a thrilling one-point team victory over Lincoln County. Freshman standout Rylan Bliss finished first for the Trojans and second overall with a personal record time of 21:36. Kaylan Robinson followed with a fourth-place finish at 22:08, and Savannah Thompson came in fifth with a new personal record of 22:23. Addi Nelsen continued her strong season with a seventh-place time of 22:37, while Rosie Miller (23:33) and Alexis Clouser (23:40) added valuable depth to the scoring lineup. Kimberly Trejo (26:25, PR) and Ella Odegard (28:56) rounded out the lineup with strong finishes for the Trojans.








In the boys’ Varsity B race, which included all classifications, Pahrump continued to demonstrate depth and promise for the future. Sam Grabbe led the Trojans with a time of 21:33, followed by Emmanuel Dupart in 23:28 and Noah Flores in 23:33. Freshman Kelden Frederickson set a new personal record at 23:58, and Isaiah Veloz closed the race strong with a personal best of 28:32.





The Trojans’ success at Cornerstone Park sets the stage for a strong postseason run. Their next challenge will be the Regional Championship Meet, scheduled for Friday, October 31, at Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City with the 3A boys slated to run at 10a.m. and the 3A girls running at 11:10a.m. Awards will follow at 11:50a.m. With both the boys’ and girls’ squads proving to be among the top contenders, Pahrump Valley looks poised to make a statement heading into the post-season.
