The third annual Conservative Women’s Tea, presented by the Pahrump Valley Republican Women, is blossoming into one of the community’s most charming, heartfelt, and inspiring spring traditions. Though the name might suggest a political gathering, founder Sharon Sadler is quick to clarify: “It’s not political. It’s about connection, encouragement, and celebrating women.”
Held this year on Sunday, May 4, the tea brings together women from all walks of life—not to talk politics, but to share stories, laughter, and a few cups of tea over exquisitely decorated tables and community support. At its core, it’s about recognizing the strength and grace of women, and giving them a space to simply be together, unwind, and be inspired.
Sharon, who describes herself as someone who typically works behind the scenes, first launched the event after helping her husband, Matt Sadler, with his campaign efforts a few years ago. During that time, she had countless conversations with people throughout the valley, many of whom felt disconnected—not just politically, but from one another.
“I found that a lot of people didn’t really know where they stood, politically or otherwise,” Sharon recalled. “But what stood out to me is that when you actually sit down and talk to people, listen to their experiences, and really connect, you realize we have more in common than we think. This tea is a way to do just that—bring women together in a peaceful, joyful space.”
Inspired by a similar event she once attended at her church in Las Vegas, Sharon envisioned a friendly, welcoming gathering where women could pull out those rarely-used, heirloom tea sets collecting dust and turn them into the centerpiece of something beautiful. That’s how the table decorating competition was born—one of the most beloved features of the event.
Each table is hosted by a volunteer who brings their own tea set, linens, decorations, and creative flair. Attendees can purchase a single ticket for $35 and will be placed at one of the themed tables. No need to know anyone beforehand—guests are welcomed warmly and instantly become part of the tea party family.
The competition is judged across three categories: Most Elegant, Most Creative, and Most Patriotic. Last year’s winners included Theresa Vail (Most Elegant), Judge Kim Wanker (Most Creative), and Sharon Sadler herself for Most Patriotic. And yes, the friendly rivalry has already begun for this year’s crown—Judge Wanker, in particular, is reportedly coming back ready to defend her title with full creative force.
This year’s event is made even more special by the lineup of guest speakers, carefully chosen to reflect the heart of the tea—women with inspiring stories, a passion for service, and the courage to share their journey.
First is Kym “Kat” Atwell, a small business owner and entrepreneur who’s known in the community not just for her facials and spa services, but for her vibrant spirit and creative passion. Sharon describes Kat as “a force of positivity and resilience,” someone who has worked hard to build her business from the ground up and genuinely cares about helping others do the same.
Also speaking is Mary Anne Jimenez, a deeply respected figure in the community through her work with U-Turn For Christ Pahrump Valley. As the wife of Pastor John Jimenez and a passionate servant-leader in her own right, Mary Anne’s testimony of faith, redemption, and dedication to helping others is nothing short of moving. “She’s the type of person who would show up at your door at 3 a.m. if you needed her,” Sharon said. “She just lives to serve.”
In addition to the spoken word, this year’s tea will also feature musical talent by Christina Maldonado, a young, inspired singer whose voice has already made waves in the community. Christina will be singing the National Anthem to kick off the event and performing another song during the program, adding a stirring musical thread to the afternoon.
Guests will also be treated to delicious tea sandwiches, snacks, and of course, steaming hot tea—all served by a very special group of men from the community. Among them is none other than Sheriff Joe McGill, who, along with other local gentlemen, will help pour hot water and serve the tables, bringing a fun and delightful twist to the day. Their involvement not only adds a bit of chivalry, but also underscores the support that strong women often receive from the men in their lives and communities.
The event is generously funded by Matt Sadler of A Hope Bail Bonds and G. Dallas Horton & Associates, Injury Attorneys of Southern Nevada, ensuring that every penny raised through ticket sales goes directly to the Pahrump Valley Republican Women and their mission-driven efforts.
Those efforts include scholarships for local students, including outreach to students in Beatty, and providing resources for other community events. Most recently, the group helped support Winter Wonder Slam, a family-friendly event in Pahrump, by funding cotton candy so children could enjoy sweet treats for free. “These women are always the first to ask, ‘What can we do to help?’” Sharon said. “It’s an amazing sisterhood of service.”
As for the vibe of the event, Sharon encourages guests to dress however they like—some arrive in full tea-time elegance with floral dresses and fancy hats, while others opt for a more casual, cozy look. It’s all about enjoying the moment and embracing the joy of the experience.
With all of these elements—creative table designs, meaningful speakers, live music, tasty treats, prizes, a silent auction, and community heroes serving tea—it’s no wonder that the Conservative Women’s Tea has become such a beloved event. But more than the decor or even the awards, it’s the atmosphere of connection and celebration that keeps people coming back.
To get involved—whether as a guest or a table host—you can contact Sharon Sadler directly at 702-504-9185, or reach out to Stephani Hashimura, President of the Pahrump Valley Republican Women, at 909-229-2693. Tickets can be purchased through the event’s Eventbrite link via QR code or directly by phone.
Sharon has also extended a warm invitation to anyone interested in simply enjoying an afternoon of laughter, beauty, and real conversation. “This is about women coming together to support one another,” she said. “To recognize what we’ve overcome, to celebrate who we are, and to dream together about what’s possible for our future.”
And if you’re lucky enough to attend, there’s one more thing you’ll notice—this isn’t just tea. It’s community, it’s creativity, and it’s a reminder that sometimes, the most powerful conversations happen between sips of Earl Grey.
