Women in the Pahrump Valley who are working to build a better future for themselves and their families will soon have the opportunity to apply for financial assistance through Soroptimist International of Pahrump Valley’s Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women.
The application portal for the 2026-27 award cycle opens Friday, Aug. 1, and eligible applicants will have until Nov. 15 to complete and submit their applications. Women may apply online through the Live Your Dream website, where they can review eligibility requirements and begin the application process.
The Live Your Dream Awards are designed to support women who are the primary financial providers for their families and are enrolled in, or have been accepted to, an undergraduate degree program, vocational training or skills certification program. Unlike traditional scholarships that are often limited to tuition, the awards are intended to help remove barriers that can stand in the way of completing an education.
Recipients may use the funds for a variety of education-related expenses, including tuition, books, childcare, transportation, technology and other costs that help them continue working toward their educational and career goals.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be the primary financial support for themselves and their dependents.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Be enrolled in or accepted to an undergraduate, vocational or skills training program.
- Be motivated to achieve their education and career goals.
- Meet additional eligibility requirements established by Soroptimist International of the Americas.
Since the program began in 1972, Soroptimist’s Live Your Dream Awards have helped tens of thousands of women continue their education by providing millions of dollars in financial assistance. Beyond easing financial burdens, the program aims to empower women to achieve long-term economic stability while creating brighter futures for their families.
Women interested in applying can visit the Live Your Dream Awards application portal beginning Aug. 1. Applications must be submitted no later than Nov. 15 at www.liveyourdream.org or reach out to Soroptimist International of Pahrump Valley’s Live Your Dream Awards chairperson, Candace Hunt at 415-314-7040 for more information.
