The Pahrump Valley High School Theatre Department opened its production of Monty Python’s Spamalot to a mostly packed house, delivering an energetic and hilarious performance that kept audiences laughing from curtain rise to final bow.

The two-act musical, running approximately two hours, combined sharp wit, lively musical numbers, strong choreography, and comedic timing that frequently brought waves of laughter so loud it briefly drowned out the next line of dialogue. From start to finish, the cast demonstrated a strong command of both the physical and vocal demands of the well-known comedic production.

Leading the production was Zachary LeBlanc as King Arthur, who guided the audience through the legendary quest to gather knights across England. Alongside him, Laila Lusar portrayed Patsy, Arthur’s loyal and comedic companion, helping anchor the show’s humor while supporting the storyline’s adventurous journey.

The show opened with Ethan O’Rourke as the Historian, setting the tone for the evening while later showcasing versatility by also portraying the Knight of Ni and Tim. His ability to shift between characters highlighted the comedic depth and fast-paced nature of the production.

Several other performers brought the colorful cast of characters to life, including Chase Moore as Sir Robin, Luigi DeAngelis as Sir Lancelot, Emery Miller-Rocha as Sir Galahad, and Adam Ward as Sir Bedevere. Each actor delivered strong character portrayals, balancing comedic timing with engaging stage presence.

Kylee Siegmund captivated the audience as The Lady of the Lake, delivering powerful musical performances that became standout moments throughout the show. Addie Allen showcased impressive versatility portraying both Not Dead Fred and Herbert, further adding to the production’s comedic layers. Additional character performances included Carlos Lindekugel as Sir Not Appearing and Jae Arian as Sir Bors.

Supporting the production’s lively atmosphere was a talented ensemble cast featuring Emily “Kaz” Stucky, Clara Ashcroft, Madison Sarkin, Samantha Barnett, Landon Hartman, and Skyler Fulde, who also served as Assistant Choreographer. The ensemble played a crucial role in maintaining the show’s high energy through coordinated dance numbers and seamless scene transitions.

Behind the scenes, an equally dedicated crew helped bring the production to life. The show was directed by Dr. Audra Duvall, whose leadership and creative vision were evident throughout the performance. Musical elements were led by Dr. Benjamin Gooch, while Kylee Siegmund also served as Assistant Director.

Technical operations were coordinated by Lyndon Steeno, who served as Stage Manager, Lead Technician, and Sound, with Chase Moore assisting as Stage Manager and Cast Lead. Lighting was operated by Tara DeGoede, projections by Carlos Lindekugel, and spotlight duties handled by Jeremy O’Neal and Gina Miri-Roberts. Additional backstage support included AnnMarie Lagpacan as Deck Crew Stage Right, Elijah Boley as Deck Crew Center Stage, and Genna Legens as Deck Crew Stage Left.

The combined efforts of the cast and crew were evident throughout the performance. Dialogue was delivered smoothly, choreography was well-timed and executed with precision, and musical numbers were performed with strong vocal quality and confidence. The level of preparation and dedication displayed by the students resulted in a polished and highly entertaining production.

Community members still have several opportunities to attend the show. Additional performances of Monty Python’s Spamalot are scheduled for Thursday, February 12 at 6 p.m., Friday, February 13 at 6 p.m., Thursday, February 19 at 6 p.m., Friday, February 20 at 6 p.m., and Saturday, February 21 at 6 p.m.
