The Pahrump Valley High School girls’ golf team brought a splash of pink and a community cause to Mountain Falls Golf Club on Thursday, Sept. 24, hosting a PINK tournament to raise awareness for breast cancer.
The friendly event brought together golfers from Pahrump Valley, Virgin Valley, Moapa Valley and Boulder City, representing the 3A division. With players sporting pink outfits, the round offered an opportunity for the teams to enjoy time on the course while supporting a shared cause.
PVHS partnered with Soroptimist International of Pahrump Valley to host the event. The organization provided pink ribbon socks for all participating golfers, adding another touch of pink to the tournament’s breast cancer awareness theme.
Soroptimist also contributed a raffle basket filled with pink golf-themed goodies, including a round of golf. All raffle proceeds will support local breast cancer assistance programs, extending the event’s impact beyond the course.
Raffle tickets remain available at Mountain Falls and through the Soroptimist group, giving community members an opportunity to contribute even after the tournament.
Organizers described the event as a success and expressed appreciation for the community’s support. Through a fun afternoon of golf and an ongoing fundraiser, the participating teams helped draw attention to breast cancer awareness and assistance for those affected locally.
