The area surrounding the Calvada Eye in Pahrump came alive on Friday morning as residents gathered to celebrate Independence Day with the town’s beloved Fourth of July Parade, organized by the Pahrump Holiday Task Force and P.D.O.P. With a blend of patriotic tradition, small-town charm, and high-energy summer fun, the event brought together families, veterans, first responders, local businesses, and community leaders for a celebration that perfectly captured the spirit of the holiday.
Kicking off the morning’s festivities was a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem performed by Sergeant Gregory Curtin. His stirring performance drew a standing ovation from paradegoers and set a respectful and proud tone for the day. The stage, stationed conveniently near the center of the Calvada Eye, was made possible through the generosity of Oak Tree Counseling, which allowed organizers to park the stage on their property and provided the necessary electricity to power the setup. Their contribution ensured that everyone in the area was able to hear the details of the event.

The Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol from Pahrump Valley High School had the honor of leading the parade, proudly carrying the flags with a sense of duty and discipline that resonated deeply with the crowd.
Spectators applauded the cadets as they marched by, a powerful reminder of the town’s commitment to developing young leaders with a sense of service.
The sounds of sirens and cheers signaled the approach of Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue and Nye County Search and Rescue, both of which received enthusiastic applause for their ongoing commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nye County residents.

One of the most recognizable faces in the lineup was Nevada State Assemblyman Gregory Hafen II, who followed behind a Manse truck while handing out cold bottles of water to parade watchers braving the heat.
His presence was a welcomed nod to civic leadership, and his efforts to keep the crowd hydrated were met with grateful smiles.

Following closely behind was Nye County Sheriff Joe McGill, walking the parade route alongside his deputies. With a relaxed and friendly presence, the sheriff and his team handed out candy to children lining the sidewalks, pausing to shake hands and take photos with families.

The Sheriff’s Office also hosted a wildly popular water balloon fight at noon, giving kids and deputies alike the chance to cool off, laugh, and enjoy some good-natured summer fun together—a perfect example of community policing at its best.
Among the honored guests in the parade were Ms. Senior Golden Years Carolyn Buckley and her court, along with Miss Pahrump 2024 Emilee Rodriguez and her court. Dressed in elegant attire and wearing their sashes and crowns with pride, both groups brought sparkle, grace, and a sense of tradition to the celebration, highlighting the community’s appreciation for local pageantry and the individuals who represent it.

Adding a dose of entertainment and rhythm were the always-lively Dancing Grandmas, who delighted the audience with their coordinated moves and infectious energy. Their participation was met with loud cheers, proving once again that age is just a number when it comes to community spirit.

The Nevada Sundance Ranch contributed a classic western touch to the lineup, showcasing two beautifully groomed horses that strutted down the route with their riders tipping hats and greeting onlookers. The presence of the ranch served as a nod to the region’s ranching roots and love of animals.
Local service groups and clubs came out in force as well. The Kiwanis Club, long known for its focus on children and community betterment, had a presence in the parade, drawing appreciation from attendees who value the organization’s lasting impact. Businesses like 365 Plumbing, Black Stone Gun Safety and Valley Electric also joined the procession, proudly representing Pahrump’s diverse and growing business community.

The Chillin’ Out Ice Cream Truck may have been one of the most popular entries of the day—especially among children—as they handed out free popsicles to help paradegoers stay cool in the summer sun. Their cheerful service brought relief and smiles, making the treat truck a clear favorite.

Also rolling through the route were members of the Patriot Guard, whose motorcycles flew American flags and whose presence evoked powerful emotion from veterans and civilians alike. Representing honor and respect for those who serve, the group was warmly received with clapping and salutes.
Other highlights included a convoy of SxS (side-by-side) off-road vehicles, showcasing the adventurous spirit of the area’s off-roading community, as well as customized cars from Light Design that turned heads with their unique detailing.

The Pahrump Gunfighters rode through on a themed float, dressed in full Old West attire, waving American flags and firing blank rounds from their replica firearms. Their spirited display brought the Wild West to life and added a lively, theatrical touch that thrilled paradegoers of all ages.

Organizations like the Disabled American Veterans and Bikers Against Bullying also participated, sending strong messages of advocacy, service, and support. Their dedication to helping others in the community was on full display, reminding everyone of the value of standing together.

Following the parade, the celebration continued with a wide variety of free family activities. Hot dogs and hamburgers were handed out to hungry attendees, and kids flocked to the bounce houses, lined up for the mechanical bull ride, and explored numerous games and attractions that kept the excitement going well into the afternoon. These post-parade festivities created an opportunity for families to spend time together, meet neighbors, and enjoy the freedoms that the holiday represents.

With laughter, music, dancing, and heartfelt patriotism, Pahrump’s 2025 Fourth of July Parade was more than just an event—it was a celebration of everything that makes the town special. From public servants and community leaders to small businesses and youth organizations, each participant contributed to a shared sense of pride and unity. It was a day to remember, full of gratitude, joy, and the unmistakable spirit of Pahrump.
