The Pahrump Valley High School tennis teams both earned victories over Coral Academy at home Wednesday, Sept. 23. The boys won a close match 10-8, while the girls finished with a 15-2 victory.
In boys singles, Jace Eichner and Ethan Johnson each won one match on the court and received a third-round forfeit, adding two points apiece to the team score. Brody Myers also earned a point by forfeit.
Brendan Torres and Tristan Torres led the boys doubles results, winning both matches they played and receiving a third-round forfeit. Samson Wagner and Solomon Wagner pushed their opponents to a close 5-7 result in their first match. They also received a forfeit point, as did Taysom Christensen and Chase Hansen.
The girls built their lead with strong results in singles and doubles. Chanel Anthony and Aurora Bowers each won two matches 6-0 and received a third point by forfeit. Pahrump’s third singles position was open, giving Coral Academy one point by forfeit; the other two rounds at that position were double forfeits.
In doubles, Milly Khandpur and Nyomi Skinner won both matches they played 6-0 and received a third point by forfeit. Lily Gregory and Wendy Rodriguez added 6-0 and 6-2 wins, along with a forfeit point. Kimberly Hernandez and Sophia Mejia Jimenez won all three of their matches, 6-0, 6-4 and 6-4, to complete Pahrump’s home victory.
