A new educational opportunity is preparing to make its way to Pahrump as organizers behind Pahrump Valley Academy (PVA) continue working toward the anticipated opening of the charter school in August 2027.
School representatives say excitement surrounding the project has continued to grow as more families throughout Pahrump and the surrounding communities learn about the academy’s planned approach to education and the opportunities it hopes to bring to local students.
Although organizers are still finalizing the permanent location for the school, they said updates will be shared publicly as soon as possible through the academy’s website and outreach efforts. In the meantime, school leaders are encouraging residents to learn more about the academy and help spread awareness throughout the community.
As part of those efforts, Pahrump Valley Academy will host an Open House on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Valley Electric Conference Center. The event is designed to give parents, grandparents and other interested community members an opportunity to ask questions, learn about the school’s mission and better understand the educational philosophy behind the academy.
The school plans to center its curriculum around Classical Education, an educational model focused on developing critical thinking, strong foundational knowledge and character development through a structured, content-rich approach to learning.
Dr. Sable Marandi, one of the driving forces behind the academy, is currently available for phone interviews to discuss the latest developments regarding the school as well as explain the principles of Classical Education and how they will shape the learning environment at PVA. Marandi is expected to return permanently to Pahrump following the conclusion of the current school year in Arctic Alaska, where she has been working in education.
Organizers say they hope the school will provide another quality educational option for families in the region while helping meet the growing interest in alternative learning opportunities.
Community members are also being encouraged to complete an online survey available through the Pahrump Valley Academy website as organizers continue gathering input and building support ahead of the planned opening. School representatives noted that community participation and feedback will play an important role as plans continue to move forward over the next year.
