Olivia Bennett – Class of 2019

When Olivia Bennett decided it was time for a change, she did more than switch careers—she launched an entire new life rooted in independence, passion, and a deep desire to uplift others through beauty and self-care. As the owner and operator of Ethereal Esthetics, Olivia has gone from making coffee and managing bank transactions to pampering clients with relaxing facials, fluffy brows, and radiant, glowing skin. With a calm energy and gentle spirit, Olivia is quietly reshaping the esthetics scene in Pahrump—one brow wax and dermaplane at a time.

Born in Washington and raised in Pahrump since the age of three, Olivia is a proud 2019 graduate of Pahrump Valley High School, where she was a dedicated cheerleader throughout middle and high school. “Cheer was the best thing in high school. I loved it so much and I miss it so much,” she said with a smile, reminiscing about her days as a main flyer and team captain. Though her mother might have worried about her being lifted into the air, Olivia loved every second of it. “It was the biggest highlight of high school for me.”

During school, Olivia entered the workforce, beginning her professional journey at Taco Bell, then Starbucks, where she helped open the Highway 160 location and stayed for over four years. That job gave her a strong foundation in customer service and work ethic, but she longed for something more. “I wanted a ‘big girl’ job,” she laughed, explaining her transition into banking with Wells Fargo. But the corporate grind quickly wore thin. “It was that nine to five. I felt stuck. I wasn’t as happy as I thought I’d be.”

That desire for purpose and freedom led her to a career in esthetics. After researching beauty schools and weighing her options, Olivia found herself drawn to Aveda Institute in Las Vegas. “The energy there was amazing,” she recalled. “I’m really big on energy and how people make you feel, and they were so welcoming. The tour alone gave me so much knowledge that I just knew—I had to do this.” Without hesitation, she paid her deposit, quit her job at the bank, and committed fully to her education. She commuted from Pahrump to Las Vegas and graduated a week early with perfect attendance—a testament to her discipline and drive.

Starting Ethereal Esthetics was not without its challenges. “The finances were definitely the most difficult part,” Olivia admitted. “I didn’t work for almost seven or eight months while I was going to school. Everyone told me not to go solo right away, to work under someone else first, but I just knew I needed to do it my way.” That bold leap into self-employment taught her more than she anticipated. From managing her LLC to sorting out insurance, taxes, and licensing requirements that often change without warning, Olivia had to learn fast. Thankfully, she had help from her father, who owns Bugs Bennett, a local pest control company. “He helped me with the business side of things, like taxes. That’s not something they really cover in beauty school.”

Initially renting space at Desert Lotus, Olivia quickly found that limited availability was holding her back. Sharing a room with another provider meant she could only work two weeks out of the month, alternating weeks. “It was just too hard to build a client base that way,” she said. In January 2025, she moved to The Beauty Collective, a collaborative space located at 3370 S. Highway 160, Suite 3, just two outlet centers away from Maverick. “It’s only four minutes from my house, which is amazing,” she beamed. “Now I have full availability, and I can take new clients anytime I need to.”

The Beauty Collective is a hub of creativity and collaboration. Alongside Olivia, six other women offer everything from hair and nails to tattoos and permanent makeup. “There’s such a great vibe there,” Olivia said. “Everyone does their own thing, and we all support each other.” Everything done at the shop is with a purpose of allowing clients to feel dainty and girly, and the variety of services available make it a one-stop-shop for clients.

Olivia herself offers a range of specialized treatments including eyebrow waxing ($18), brow lamination, brow tinting, lash lifts and tints, and an array of facial services. Her most popular treatment? Dermaplaning—a method that uses a scalpel to gently remove dead skin and peach fuzz, leaving the skin visibly smooth and radiant. At $90, it’s her most expensive service, but clients leave glowing—literally. “Dermaplaning gives you that instant gratification,” Olivia explained. “It’s safe, effective, and clients can see a real difference right away. It’s definitely my favorite service to perform.”

She also provides enzyme facials ($85), which use fruit-based enzymes and steam to deeply exfoliate the skin without harsh chemicals or visible peeling. These are tailored based on skin type and concerns, with options ranging from sensitive to more intensive treatments like a blueberry enzyme. “It’s more of a progressive result—you get deeper exfoliation without the irritation of a peel,” she explained. While the enzyme facial is ideal for monthly maintenance, the dermaplane service delivers immediate results.

Currently, Olivia works by appointment only, typically booking clients Monday through Friday between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. “Eventually, I’d love to open up more hours in the evenings,” she said, “maybe a couple days a week until 7 p.m. But weekends are mine unless we have an event.” Events like the recent Spring Pop-Up allow Olivia to meet new clients and offer booking specials. “We had one in February for Galentine’s Day that was incredible. So many people came out, wanted to meet me, and booked appointments. It really set the bar for what I could do.”

Through all of this, Olivia still works at Our Place, a beloved local coffee house. “I couldn’t give it up—I love it there,” she said. “Even on my days off, I go in, get my work done, schedule clients. It’s my home base.”

When asked what she loves most about being her own boss, Olivia lights up. “The flexibility is amazing, but really, it’s getting to create a space that reflects me—my energy, my vibe. I get to pamper my clients in a way that feels authentic to who I am.” She works hard to make each experience personal and relaxing, and her clients appreciate the gentle professionalism she brings to the treatment room.

As for continuing education, Olivia is always learning—whether it’s through online courses, watching mentors on TikTok, or revisiting her Aveda training materials. While additional certifications are required for some services like lash extensions and dermaplaning, other continuing education is optional but encouraged. “You have to keep your brain refreshed,” she said. “This industry changes fast. And you can really mess up someone’s skin if you’re not careful.”

Though she hinted at a future offering that would expand her business beyond esthetics, Olivia is keeping those plans under wraps for now. “It’s a surprise,” she grinned. “But I’ll definitely share when it’s ready!”

For now, Olivia is thriving, growing a loyal client base and doing what she loves in a town she’s proud to call home. “I used to have to drive to Vegas for everything,” she said. “Now I don’t. Everything I need is right here, and I love supporting other local businesses. The support I’ve received has been amazing.”

To book a service with Olivia or learn more about what Ethereal Esthetics offers, the best way to reach her is through Instagram or her booking app. She also maintains a Facebook presence and is always open to new clients who want to look and feel their best—inside and out.

With a warm smile and a steady hand, Olivia Bennett is redefining beauty in Pahrump—and showing others that sometimes, the boldest moves lead to the most beautiful results.
