Nye County SxS: Where Off-Road Adventure Meets Community Spirit

When Britt Davis founded Nye County SxS LLC, it wasn’t just about creating a group of people who enjoyed driving side-by-sides across the desert trails of Nevada. It was about weaving together community, fun, and purpose in a way that makes the vast Nye County landscape feel like home for anyone who joins in. From its very beginning, the group has strived to bring people together, promote safety on the trails, and give back through creative events that raise funds for local causes.

Britt describes the mission of Nye County SxS simply: to create fun, inclusive, and safe off-road experiences that connect people. This is more than just a ride—it’s an opportunity for families and newcomers to find a welcoming space where friendships grow, businesses collaborate, and the desert trails turn into shared memories. With every organized ride, the group makes Nye County’s rugged beauty a backdrop for bonding, laughter, and mutual support.

One memorable moment Britt recalls highlights the true spirit of the group. On a ride to another event within Nye County, members formed a long convoy, their vehicles snaking across the open landscape in an impressive display of unity. When a rider experienced a mechanical breakdown, others immediately stepped in with tools and expertise to get them back on the road. What could have been a frustrating moment turned into a celebration of teamwork, and Britt saw firsthand the family-like spirit that defines the club.

Events are at the heart of what Nye County SxS does, and none is more unique than the Spooktacular Poker Run. Blending the adrenaline of off-road adventure with the creativity of Halloween, the event includes a haunted house, trunk-or-treat, and themed ride through scenic trails. Britt explained that this event was always a dream of his, designed to celebrate community and creativity while adding a festive twist. The vision came to life when Ginger Simpson of JGR Offroad and a few close friends decided to join forces. What started as a spark of an idea grew into a major production. This year, Nye County SxS is teaming up with JGR Offroad and the Pahrump Disability Outreach Program (PDOP) to make the Spooktacular Poker Run even bigger. A portion of the proceeds will benefit PDOP, supporting local families and ensuring the event leaves a meaningful mark beyond just the thrill of the ride.

Sponsorship plays a key role in bringing these events to life. Britt emphasizes that the group partners only with businesses that share their values and demonstrate genuine commitment to the community. Whether sponsors contribute financially, donate products for giveaways, or provide refreshments for participants, their involvement enriches the experience for everyone. Nye County SxS openly welcomes new partners, inviting local businesses and individuals to join in making their events more impactful.

The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. Riders appreciate the well-organized nature of the events and the welcoming atmosphere that ensures everyone, from experienced enthusiasts to first-timers, feels included. The broader Pahrump community values the economic benefits that come from increased activity and the social benefits of seeing neighbors come together in a positive and supportive way.

Looking forward, Nye County SxS has big plans. New ride locations, fresh themes, and collaborative events are all on the horizon. Britt also places a strong emphasis on youth engagement, recognizing the importance of fostering the next generation of off-roaders in a safe and structured environment. Safety remains a top priority, with careful route planning, dust and sound management, and thorough safety briefings before every ride. Each participant is reminded to know their limits and take responsibility for their own vehicle, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the adventure responsibly.

Through years of experience managing a motocross track and leading BD Racing, Britt has learned valuable lessons about consistency, communication, and adaptability. He brings that expertise to Nye County SxS while also drawing on his role as a board member of the Nevada Offroad Association (NVORA). NVORA represents more than 150,000 Nevadans and contributes over half a billion dollars annually to the state’s economy. Its mission of protecting public access and promoting responsible off-roading perfectly aligns with Britt’s goals for Nye County SxS.

Among the many programs Nye County SxS supports, Youth Ride Day stands out as a highlight. Designed to give children and families a safe entry point into off-roading, the event has been warmly embraced. Britt saw the potential for a youth track when the Pahrump Off-Highway Vehicle Park was being developed and quickly got involved in shaping its direction. Youth Ride Day has since become a cherished event where families can ride together, kids can build confidence, and experienced riders mentor the next generation. It is not just about riding—it’s about creating lifelong memories and teaching responsibility in a fun and controlled environment.

As Nye County SxS continues to grow, Britt envisions expanding membership, adding new events, and deepening community ties. He emphasizes that ideas are always welcome, and the group is open to creative collaborations and new ways to engage with the community. From themed rides to nonprofit partnerships, the possibilities seem endless.

At its core, Nye County SxS is more than an off-road group—it’s a movement. By combining the thrill of the ride with the warmth of community, it has created something truly special in Nye County. Whether through the Spooktacular Poker Run, Youth Ride Day, or future adventures yet to be planned, the group continues to prove that off-roading can be about much more than just the trail. It’s about family, friendship, giving back, and celebrating the unique desert home they all share.
