New Beginnings – Sarah Crawford Finds Strength and Success Through Glam Ink by Sarah

When Sarah Crawford first launched her business, Glam Ink by Sarah, she wasn’t just starting a business—she was rebuilding her life. What began as a necessary reinvention after personal upheaval has blossomed into a thriving service in Pahrump’s beauty scene, offering clients everything from expertly tattooed eyebrows to radiant, rapid spray tans.

“I tattoo faces,” Sarah said with a laugh. “Eyebrows, lash liner and lips. And I do rapid spray tans, too.” Her permanent makeup services are available through Honey&Sage, where she works as an independent contractor. The spray tans, however, are done in her garage—an intentional choice after learning how messy the product can be to work with in shared spaces. “It’s in and out, quick and easy,” she said. “I love doing that, too. Just making people feel beautiful and not have to spend a long time getting ready—it just makes life easier.”

But behind every confident line she draws and every even layer of bronzer she sprays is a story of grit, resilience, and renewal. Her journey into the beauty industry began in August 2023 when she enrolled in a permanent makeup course offered by longtime friend and local business owner, Suzie of Honey&Sage. “When Suzie told me she was doing the program, I was like, I have to do it,” Sarah explained. “I borrowed money from my dad. I didn’t want to lose my ability to be there for my kids, and this felt like the only path where I could work around their schedule and still be a mom.”

Sarah’s decision came on the heels of heartbreak. In December 2022, her husband revealed he was having an affair. Just two days after Christmas, he left Sarah and their two sons. “It was devastating,” she said.

Suddenly, Sarah was a single mother with no career experience outside the home. “I had been a full-time mom our entire marriage. I went from 24/7 mom to alone with two boys. I didn’t want to take anything else away from them—I still wanted to make dinner, do homework, be present—so I needed something that worked for us.”

After completing the permanent makeup course in March 2024, Sarah didn’t hesitate to stay on at Honey&Sage. “I told Suzie, ‘You’re stuck with me now.’ I’ve been there ever since. It’s been a little hard, trying to build a clientele, but I absolutely love what I do.”

She also credits the environment at Honey&Sage for helping her heal emotionally. “Being around Suzie and the other girls, it’s been really good for my personal growth. They’ve made me feel seen and loved, especially after everything that’s happened. There’s no cattiness, just support. It’s helped me find myself again and create a new path for me and my kids.”

Sarah balances her business responsibilities while managing an ongoing custody battle. Despite the challenges, she’s more determined than ever to establish financial independence. “We’re just now starting the divorce process,” she said. “Lawyer fees are piling up, so I’m working hard to grow my business and not have to depend on him anymore.”

To promote Glam Ink by Sarah, she’s been attending community events like the Ovation function at Mountain Falls, handing out business cards, and connecting with residents in creative ways. “We raffled off services and did a Q&A—it was packed, and so much fun,” she recalled.

Sarah works Tuesdays, Thursdays, Friday afternoons, and weekends. She shares a permanent makeup room at Honey&Sage with three other technicians. “We’re all on an app, and we just book around each other,” she said. Appointments can be scheduled via text or phone at 702-817-7827 or through her Instagram page, @glam.ink_bysarah, where clients can also view her work and message her directly.

    Her services include:

    • Rapid spray tan – $55 per session
    • Eyebrows – $400, including touch-up
    • Top lash liner – $250
    • Bottom liner add-on – $100
    • Lips – $350

All permanent makeup services come with a touch-up appointment six to eight weeks later and a take-home kit with aftercare products. Annual touch-ups are available for $250, and the more layers a client builds over time, the longer they can wait between touch-ups.

Beyond the numbers, Sarah’s focus is on empowerment and transformation. “I love everything about what I do,” she said. “From getting ready and walking into the salon to meeting clients and seeing their faces light up—every step of the process fulfills me. And when I finish a service and know I’ve helped someone feel more confident, it’s the best feeling.”

Her philosophy on self-care has evolved, too. “If self-care had a face, it would be my friend Lava,” she said, smiling. “She always puts herself first. She feeds herself first. And I admire that, because I’ve learned how important it is—especially for women. If I had done that earlier, maybe I wouldn’t have been hit so hard. But now I know better.”

Sarah’s journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s led her to rediscover a sense of identity, artistry, and confidence. “I want to stay busy. I don’t ever want to fall back into a dark hole again. I still have a long road ahead—refinancing my home, navigating custody—but I’m not going to let him take everything. I’m doing this for myself and for my kids.”

Whether she’s applying a flawless set of brows, perfecting a lash line, or giving a client a glow before a special event, Sarah is doing more than enhancing appearances—she’s rewriting her story, one beautiful face at a time.
