Desert View Hospital Plans Move for Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic

Desert View Hospital’s outpatient physical therapy clinic will relocate into the hospital later this month, bringing rehabilitation services closer to the hospital’s other healthcare departments.

The move is tentatively scheduled for Monday, Oct. 26, according to an announcement released by the hospital Oct. 1. Hospital officials emphasized that outpatient physical therapy services will continue and described the relocation as part of the department’s ongoing growth.

For patients currently receiving physical therapy, appointments should continue as scheduled unless the Physical Therapy department contacts them with different instructions. If the relocation date changes, scheduled patients will be notified directly.

Moving the clinic into the hospital will allow the physical therapy team to work more closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Hospital officials said the new location will also offer patients the convenience of receiving more of their care in one place.

“We are very excited to bring our Physical Therapy team into the hospital and have more of the Desert View family together under one roof,” said Susan Davila, CEO of Desert View Hospital.

Davila credited the department’s growth to the community’s trust and said patients can expect the same familiar staff and compassionate care following the move. According to the hospital, the Physical Therapy department is busier than it has ever been.

The relocation is intended to create a closer connection between outpatient rehabilitation and the hospital’s other services while making the transition as smooth as possible for patients.

“We know that whenever a healthcare service changes locations, our patients may have questions,” Davila said. “We want to be very clear: Physical Therapy is not going away. We are not closing. We are growing, and we are excited to bring everyone together in one place.”

Desert View Hospital has served Pahrump since 2006. In addition to physical therapy, the critical access hospital provides emergency care, wound care, radiology, surgery, a 24-hour laboratory and cardiopulmonary care.

Patients with questions about the relocation or upcoming physical therapy appointments may contact Desert View Hospital at 775-751-7500.
