    Christian Mott – Class of 2022

    Christian Mott, a 2022 graduate of PVHS, has embarked on an inspiring journey that combines hard work, dedication, and a passion for learning. Reflecting on his high school years, Christian fondly remembers his freshman year during the last game of the regular soccer season. “We played Del Sol at home with the biggest crowd we ever had, and the winner of the game got to go to regionals. We ended up winning that game, and I’ll never forget how much that meant to me and the rest of the guys on the field,” he recalls with pride. This victory was a significant milestone, marking the first time in 11 years that the PVHS boys soccer team made it to regionals.

    In addition to his success on the soccer field, Christian’s high school years were filled with notable achievements. He maintained a 4.0 academic award for all four years, was crowned homecoming prince as a freshman, and helped his golf team secure second place in the state during his senior year.

    Christian’s career journey began with working for his parents’ family-owned party rental business, where he set up bounce houses. This experience instilled in him the value of hard work and perseverance. Although he initially aspired to be an electrician, circumstances led him to explore various paths, including an opportunity to work for a bank that ultimately fell through. Undeterred, Christian decided to attend Quality Technical Training Center, a trade school where he initially pursued HVAC training. However, his true passion for electrical work soon emerged. “After trying it out and working in the field for a while, doing electrical work, I realized how much I enjoyed it and decided that this is what I wanted to pursue as my career,” he explains.

    Today, Christian is an electrician for GE Electrical Services in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of his proudest milestones was wiring a tilt-up commercial building from start to finish independently. This achievement is a testament to his dedication and growing expertise in the field. His parents have been a significant influence on his personal and professional development, continually pushing him to strive for excellence.

    Christian’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. Understanding circuitry and the complexities of electrical work required diligent study and a willingness to seek knowledge from various sources. “I’d ask questions every day and go home and read about stuff and watch videos on how people did things differently in the electrical field,” he shares.

    Through his experiences, Christian has learned the importance of patience and the value of taking time to do things right. His advice to aspiring electricians is to stay open-minded and eager to learn, as there is always something new to discover in the trade.

    While his career keeps him busy, Christian remains connected to PVHS through sports, frequently attending soccer and basketball games to support the teams. Outside of work, his hobbies revolve around cars, which he enjoys working on, driving, and showcasing as a form of personal expression.

    Balancing his professional and personal life can be challenging, but Christian makes it a priority to stay fit by going to the gym and spending quality time with his parents and close friends. Looking ahead, his future goals include becoming a master electrician and eventually owning his own company.

    In a few weeks, Christian will undertake his biggest project yet—wiring three large commercial buildings in Las Vegas. He attributes his achievements to the unwavering support of his parents and friends and remains committed to continuous self-improvement. “Sometimes things will be hard, but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. I will keep trying every day to be a better person and a better man than I was the day before,” he concludes.

    Christian Mott’s story is a compelling reminder of the power of perseverance, passion, and the pursuit of one’s dreams.
