Young performers in Pahrump will have an opportunity to step into the spotlight this summer as the Pahrump Theatre Company prepares to host its upcoming Youth Theatre Camp series, offering students a hands-on experience in creating and performing original productions.
Designed to encourage creativity, collaboration and confidence, the camp goes beyond traditional theatre instruction. According to information shared by the organization, participants will work together to build an entire production from the ground up — developing the story, designing the overall look and bringing their ideas to life through a final performance for family and community members.
The camp will be divided into age-based sessions throughout June and July, giving students the opportunity to work alongside peers at similar experience levels.
Students entering 3rd through 5th grades will attend camp June 8–12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., culminating in a public performance on June 13 at 5 p.m.
A separate session for middle school students is scheduled for June 15–19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with their final show taking place on June 20 at 5 p.m.
For high school students, camp will run June 22–26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a performance on June 27 at 5 p.m.
Students who participate in the earlier sessions will also have the opportunity to continue their theatre experience through an Advanced Class, scheduled for July 6–10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. That group’s final performance is planned for July 11 at 5 p.m.
Camp registration is $100 per week.
Organizers describe the experience as a unique opportunity for students to explore all aspects of theatrical production while building communication skills, creativity and confidence in a supportive environment. Rather than focusing solely on acting, campers will take part in shaping the creative process from beginning to end.
