The Pahrump Valley High School girls’ varsity basketball team wrapped up play at the Gator Winter Classic on a high note Tuesday, December 30, earning a convincing win over Lee Williams High School of Kingman, Arizona. The victory provided a strong finish to both the tournament and the 2025 calendar year, showcasing the Lady Trojans’ growth, balance, and confidence on both ends of the floor.
The Lady Trojans set the tone early, forcing a jump ball on the opening possession and quickly establishing defensive pressure. After Lee Williams scored first at the free-throw line, Riley Saldaña answered with an and-one finish underneath to swing momentum. From there, the Lady Trojans began to pull away, using ball movement and transition opportunities to build a steady lead. Kaitlyn Brown found Saldaña for a layup in transition, Ella Odegard scored coming down from the elbow, and Brown added a jumper from the right side as Pahrump Valley closed the first quarter ahead 11–4.

The second quarter saw the Trojans extend their advantage through aggressive defense and unselfish offense. Saldaña continued to control the paint with multiple finishes, while Odegard knocked down a three-pointer from the right corner on an inbound play. Brown stayed hot from the perimeter, burying a three from the left wing, and Addi Nelsen contributed defensively with pressure that led to scoring chances. Steals by Odegard turned into easy points for Saldaña, helping the Lady Trojans head into halftime with a commanding 31–9 lead.
After the break, the Lady Trojans kept their foot on the gas. Brown drained another three from the right corner, and Nelsen followed with a smooth open look from the left wing. Odegard battled inside for a putback basket, and Brown capped the quarter with an impressive four-point play after knocking down a three while being fouled. With contributions coming from across the lineup, Pahrump Valley maintained control entering the final period.

In the fourth quarter, the Trojans continued to showcase depth and teamwork. Aurora Bowers came up with a steal and fed Saldaña for a layup, while Julie Briggs and Sydney Crotty made key defensive plays, including rebounds, steals, and forced jump balls. Adrian Rogers and Emily Zaragoza checked in and made their presence felt, with Rogers scoring on an inbound play and recording a block late, and Zaragoza adding defensive pressure. The Lady Trojans closed out the game with poise, securing a 56–20 win to give them confidence and momentum heading into 2026.
