    Lady Trojans Celebrate Standout Performances at End-of-Season Soccer Awards

    The Pahrump Valley High School girls’ soccer program closed out an exciting 2025 season by honoring both varsity and junior varsity athletes for their hard work, leadership, and contribution to the program. Coaches, players, and families gathered to celebrate a year defined by growth, determination, and memorable performances across both levels.

    The evening began by honoring the junior varsity team, recognizing every athlete who earned her certificate this season. JV captains Jazmyn Herrera and Melanie Carson were celebrated for their leadership, alongside teammates Anjolina Mercado, Michell Villalobos, Mitzy Godinez, Kylie Horn, Biannet Lozano Chavez, Brisa Perea, Annabelle Boothe, Avery Farruggia, Kylee Lusk, Mary Miller, Patience Moore, Melissa Nunez-Ramirez, Makaylah Ofseur, Amelie Ramos, Raylee Smith, Kimberly Villalobos, and Christine Williams.

    The coaches then highlighted standout athletes for their contributions throughout the season, starting with MVP Jazmyn Herrera, who led the team both in performance and leadership. Coaches Award recipient Melanie Carson was recognized for her consistency and coachability. Freshman goalkeeper Annabelle Boothe earned Most Dedicated for her steady presence on the field and hard work at every practice. Offensive Player of the Year went to freshman Raylee Smith, whose speed and attacking mindset created opportunities all season long. Defensive Player of the Year was awarded to Kylee Lusk for her control and composure in the back. Most Improved went to Anjolina Mercado, who showed tremendous growth throughout the year.

    After celebrating JV, the spotlight shifted to the varsity team, where each athlete who earned a letter was recognized for her contributions to a strong and competitive season. Seniors Delaney Abbatte, Haylee Barajas-Solis, Julieanne Briggs, Sarah Brown-Collins, Diona Nixon, Staisha Perry, Natalia Vallin (Head Captain), and Aubrey Williams (Captain) were honored for their leadership in their final year as Trojans. Juniors Paola Aguilar, Sydney Crotty, Jazmyn Herrera, Juliana Shepard-Lopez, Natalie Soto (Captain), and Michell Villalobos joined them in earning varsity letters, along with sophomore Cindal Monahan and freshmen Avery Farruggia, Kylee Lusk, Mary Miller, Patience Moore, Melissa Nunez-Ramirez, Raylee Smith, and Christine Williams.

    Coaches then highlighted athletes who stood out with exceptional contributions on and off the field. Senior standout Natalia Vallin earned the team’s Most Valuable Player Award, capping off a remarkable season as the program’s leader in offensive production and on-field direction. The Coaches Award went to senior Sarah Brown, whose reliability, teamwork, and determination set the tone for the squad all season long. Senior Delaney Abbatte was named Most Dedicated, a testament to her consistency and work ethic.

    The positional awards showcased the balance of talent across the roster: Aubrey Williams earned Offensive Player of the Year for her creativity and scoring threat, while defensive anchor Diona Nixon claimed Defensive Player of the Year for her steady play along the back line. Junior captain Natalie Soto was recognized as this year’s Foundation Player, honoring her impact on team culture and structure. Senior goalkeeper Julie Briggs rounded out the list by being named Most Improved.

    Trojans also shined at the league and state levels.
    • NIAA 3A South All-League First Team selections were Natalia Vallin and Natalie Soto.
    • Second Team All-League honors went to Aubrey Williams.
    • Honorable Mentions were awarded to Diona Nixon and Sarah Brown.
    • Vallin earned one of the region’s top distinctions as the NIAA Southern Nevada High School Soccer Coaches Association 3A South Offensive Player of the Year.
    • Additionally, Vallin, Williams, Nixon, and Brown were all named to the NIAA Southern Nevada High School Soccer Coaches Association 3A South All-State and All-League teams.
    • Vallin and Nixon were also selected for the 3A/4A/5A All-Star Team, highlighting their impact across divisions.

    As the program wraps up the season, coaches praised both teams for their determination and teamwork, setting a strong foundation for the future of Lady Trojans soccer. With multiple award-winners returning next year, the program looks forward to another competitive and successful season ahead.
