Rumbling Rhythms Music Awards Gears Up for October Debut in Pahrump

A new wave of musical talent is headed to Pahrump this fall as Rumbling Rhythms, a live music festival and awards showcase, makes its debut the first weekend of October. Organized by Anthony Greco, the event aims to spotlight local musicians, celebrate creativity, and bring the community together for a weekend filled with performances, vendors, and fan-voted awards.

Set to run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, the festival is open to solo artists and bands of all sizes, ages 14 and up. Those under 18 must have parental permission to participate. Each act will be given a 40–45 minute performance slot, and performers are only required to be present during their scheduled time. Prizes include $1,000 for first place, $500 for second, and $250 for third—awarded based entirely on audience votes.

“This is a chance for musicians to get real exposure and be a part of something fun and positive,” Greco said. “I’ve designed this so it’s all about fairness. Every vote counts, and every artist has a shot.”

Admission to the event is $1, with an optional $1 voting ticket that allows attendees to cast a single vote per day. To keep the competition fair, each ticket equals one vote, helping ensure no single act can flood the ballot box.

Greco plans to divide the schedule based on genre and whether acts perform original music or covers. “If I get enough original artists, I’d love to dedicate a whole day just to those who write their own songs,” he said. Performers like John Michael Ferrari and Sophie, who both write and perform original music, are already lined up to participate.

Vendors are also welcome and can reserve a space for $50 per day. They are not required to be present all three days. Additionally, advertising space is available in the official event program for $100 per full-page black-and-white ad.

While excitement is building, Greco noted that participation from local bands and vendors has been slower than expected. He hopes more will commit soon so the full schedule can be finalized and promotional materials printed in time. If interest remains too low by August 31, Rumbling Rhythms may be postponed and merged with the upcoming Pahrump Film Festival in April.

“But that’s not the goal,” Greco emphasized. “The vision is to give local artists a stage now, not later. I just need more people to take that step.”

To register as a performer or vendor, email KPFF977fm@gmail.com with your name, phone number, band details, music type, and whether you perform original or cover songs. Greco prefers phone conversations due to a past injury that makes typing difficult, so be sure to include your contact information.

With the right support, Rumbling Rhythms could become a signature annual event for Pahrump’s music scene. The only thing missing now is you.
