The Pahrump Valley High School Trojans girls’ basketball team wrapped up their regular season with a spirited effort against the SLAM Bulls on Friday, February 7. The home game doubled as Senior Night, honoring the contributions of three dedicated players: Ryleigh Denton, Trinity French, and Alexandra (Allie) Porter. The trio was celebrated before tipoff, surrounded by family, teammates, coaches, and an enthusiastic home crowd.

The Trojans took the court with determination, featuring a starting lineup of Trinity French, Ryleigh Denton, Riley Saldana, Jules Ondrisko, and Allie Porter. Denton got the Trojans on the board early with a three-pointer, setting the tone for an energetic contest. Saldana, Thompson, and Ondrisko added to the scoreboard, displaying teamwork and resilience against a tough SLAM Bulls squad.

Despite SLAM’s early offensive push, the Trojans continued to battle, showcasing strong ball movement and defensive efforts. Denton and Saldana connected for key baskets, while Sydney Crotty and Jules Ondrisko contributed with critical plays inside. As the game progressed, the Trojans rotated in additional players, ensuring that everyone had a chance to take part in the season finale.

With time winding down, Pahrump Valley’s bench players, including Julie Briggs, Cindal Monahan, Autumn Colon, Addi Nelsen, and Natalia Vallin, brought fresh energy onto the court. Addi Nelsen made her mark by drawing a foul and sinking a free throw, earning cheers from the crowd. The game concluded with a final score of 22-59, but the scoreboard didn’t reflect the heart and determination the Trojans displayed throughout the night.

Though the regular season has come to a close, the Trojans’ journey isn’t over. With their sights set on the postseason, Pahrump Valley will take on Virgin Valley in the first round of the playoffs on February 11. As they prepare for what will be a tough challenge, the team will look to bring their best effort to the court.

Senior Night was a special evening filled with gratitude, camaraderie, and a celebration of the dedication that Denton, French, and Porter have brought to the program. Their leadership and contributions will leave a lasting impact on the Trojans, inspiring the next generation of players to continue the tradition of hard work. This season was one of rebuilding, with the entire team putting in the effort to grow and improve. While their record may not reflect the success they had hoped for, the team made significant strides, proving their resilience and commitment. Now, they look ahead to the playoffs with determination, ready to take on the competition with the same heart that has defined their season.
