The Pahrump Valley High School boys’ tennis team showed tremendous heart in the Class 3A Southern Regional Semifinals on Thursday, October 9, taking on Coral Sandy Ridge at Whitney Mesa in Henderson. Although the Trojans ultimately fell just short in a tiebreaker, the match demonstrated their competitive spirit and season-long growth.
After entering the third round down by two points, the Trojans dug deep and battled back to even the score. Despite their impressive rally, Coral Sandy Ridge secured the overall win in the individual tiebreak, ending PVHS’s run toward state qualification as a team.

In singles, Sonny Skinner, Jace Eichner, and Lucas Johnson each earned two wins out of three, giving the Trojans crucial points in the comeback push. The doubles team of Skinner and Juan Rodriguez also went 2–1, while Ethan Johnson and Nick Watson added another key victory.

Although the loss ended Pahrump Valley’s team competition, several players will have the chance to advance individually. Singles and doubles regional play begins Thursday, October 16, at 11 a.m. at Bishop Gorman High School, where the Trojans will once again take the court with determination and pride.
