The Pahrump Valley High School wrestling team turned Senior Night into a celebration to remember Friday, January 16, rolling to a decisive 68–12 home victory over Somerset Losee while honoring the athletes who have helped shape the program.

Between the JV and varsity matches, the Trojans paused competition to recognize their seniors and their families, a moment that drew strong community support and set the tone for the night. Seniors honored included Austin Alvarez, Dominic Chiancone, Jayden Crisler, Ben De Santiago, Jacob McLaughlin, Ethan Rouse, Joseph Scheer, Jacob Stepp, Timmy Stutzman, Mason Whitney, Dominik Wilson, Jonathan Lopez, and the team manager, Breanna Garcia. With the gym filled with applause, the varsity lineup responded with an emphatic performance on the mat.

Pahrump Valley opened fast and never let up. At 106 pounds, Timmy Stutzman picked up a forfeit win to get the Trojans started, followed by another forfeit victory from Ethan Rouse at 113. Joseph Scheer wasted no time at 120, scoring a fall in just 27 seconds, and Dominic Chiancone added another forfeit at 126 to keep momentum firmly on Pahrump’s side.

The pins kept coming in the middle weights. Carlos Flores secured a fall at 132 in 2:45, while Jacob McLaughlin thrilled the crowd with a lightning-quick pin at 138, ending the match in just 16 seconds. Dominik Wilson followed with a solid 8–4 decision at 144, showing control and composure throughout. Jayden Crisler then electrified Senior Night with a 21-second fall at 150, and Austin Alvarez recorded one of the fastest results of the evening with an immediate pin at 157.

Mason Whitney and Jonathan Lopez each earned forfeit wins at 165 and 175, respectively, continuing the Trojans’ dominant stretch. Somerset Losee managed a pin at 190, but Pahrump Valley answered right back as Iyan Bosket delivered a commanding technical fall at 215, winning 19–3. The final bout at heavyweight went to Somerset, closing out the night with the Trojans firmly in control on the scoreboard.

Head Coach Antonio Sandoval praised both the performance and the moment, saying, “It was a great night, a lot of people showed up to support our seniors in their last home event. We wrestled pretty well, we went out and took care of business like we knew we should have. Going to miss a lot of those guys going forward but I am super proud of everything they have already accomplished this season even though the job isn’t done yet. Really excited to watch us compete this weekend in Moapa and at Regionals in a few weeks.”

With Senior Night memories made and postseason goals still ahead, Pahrump Valley left the mat Friday night with both a dominant win and a meaningful send-off for a senior class that has left its mark on the program.
