The Pahrump Baseball Organization (PBO) RoadRunners 10U squad put together an energetic and competitive showing during tournament play Friday and Saturday, June 19–20 in Bullhead City, Arizona, earning a win and continuing to compete through all three games while showcasing aggressive baserunning, timely offense and several strong defensive moments.
Across the weekend, the RoadRunners finished with one victory and continued to generate offense throughout the tournament, collecting 17 runs over three games while receiving contributions throughout the lineup.
Game One – RoadRunners 7, Turquoise Kings 5
PBO opened tournament play with a strong all-around performance against Turquoise Kings, using pressure on the bases and steady defense to secure a 7-5 victory.
The RoadRunners wasted little time getting on the board in the top of the first. Jack G opened the game with a walk and immediately created pressure, stealing his way into scoring position before eventually crossing home on a defensive miscue. Sage O helped move the inning along with productive contact before Zayah P and Liam O continued the at-bats.
Turquoise Kings answered in the bottom half against starting pitcher Oliver T. After an opening walk, Oliver settled in and limited damage. Jack G handled a groundout at first and the RoadRunners escaped with the game tied after a defensive play involving Zayah and Sage prevented additional momentum.
PBO regained control in the second.
Bash T started the inning with a line-drive single and advanced into scoring position. Isaiah B later reached and came around to score through aggressive baserunning while Daniel L added a single to keep traffic moving. By the end of the inning, the RoadRunners had stretched the lead to 3-1.
Defensively, Oliver continued to work efficiently in the second. He recorded a strikeout and worked around baserunners with support behind him, including another clean play by Sage at second base.
The RoadRunners added insurance in the third.
Nolan W reached to begin the inning and quickly turned his speed into a run opportunity. Jack delivered an RBI single and later scored, while Sage added a productive ground ball that plated another run to extend the advantage to 5-1.
On the mound, Nolan took over and delivered an important third inning. He struck out the leadoff batter and received excellent support behind him as Zayah made consecutive plays from shortstop to close the frame.
Both teams were quiet in the fourth as PBO continued to defend well. Jack recorded an out at first while Bash and Sage contributed to limiting opportunities.
The RoadRunners added two valuable insurance runs in the fifth. Wolfe W worked a walk and later scored before Jack again applied pressure with his speed and eventually crossed home. Sage and Zayah continued drawing quality at-bats to keep the inning alive.
Turquoise Kings mounted a late rally in the bottom of the fifth, stringing together several hits to cut the lead to two runs, but the RoadRunners stayed composed. A key defensive sequence ended with Paxton L throwing out a runner attempting to advance, preserving the 7-5 win.
Jack finished with three runs scored and an RBI, while Sage, Zayah, Daniel and Bash all contributed offensively. Oliver, Nolan and Zayah combined pitching duties.
Game Two – RoadRunners 10, Mohave Storm 9
Game two turned into one of the most dramatic contests of the weekend as the RoadRunners erased an early deficit to walk away with a thrilling comeback win.
Mohave Storm came out swinging and built an early lead in the first inning against RoadRunner starter Liam O.
Despite the early pressure, PBO responded immediately.
Jack reached to open the bottom half and turned his speed into the team’s first run. Liam later worked a walk and Oliver T added a single. The RoadRunners capitalized with aggressive movement on the bases and cut the deficit to 5-2.
Mohave added another run in the second, but the RoadRunners again answered.
Callan B reached and eventually scored before Jack singled and Zayah followed with an RBI knock to trim the lead to 6-4.
One of the biggest defensive moments came in the top of the second when the RoadRunners turned a double play. Nolan W made the catch in center and Oliver completed the play at first to erase a potential scoring opportunity.
Paxton L entered to pitch in relief and helped settle things down.
The RoadRunners remained within striking distance entering the fourth after Daniel scored during the third inning.
Then came the comeback.
Trailing 9-5 entering the bottom of the fourth, Sage reached and immediately created pressure. Bash followed by getting aboard before Isaiah B delivered an RBI hit.
Jack came through again with an RBI single and Zayah followed with a clutch double. Liam then delivered another extra-base hit to bring home the tying run.
Moments later, Oliver lined a single into center, allowing Liam to score the go-ahead run and complete the rally.
Jack and Zayah each finished with multiple hits while Liam and Oliver supplied key extra-base production during the deciding inning.
Game Three – Turquoise Kings 18, RoadRunners 4
The RoadRunners closed tournament play with a rematch against Turquoise Kings and continued battling despite facing an early deficit.
Zayah took the ball to start and worked through a difficult opening inning while also recording back-to-back strikeouts to end the frame.
PBO responded in the bottom half.
Jack opened with a walk and immediately pressured the defense. Sage and Zayah also reached, and Liam drove in the RoadRunners’ first run with a single.
Turquoise Kings added runs over the next two innings, but the RoadRunners continued competing.
Isaiah B sparked the second inning with a line-drive single and later moved into scoring position.
In the third, Sage delivered an RBI single and Zayah followed with another run-scoring hit to cut into the margin.
Jack later moved from first base to the mound and gave the team quality effort in relief while recording a strikeout and working through traffic.
The RoadRunners added one final run in the fourth after Oliver reached and Isaiah collected another RBI single.
Even as the score widened late, PBO continued creating offense, putting runners on base and forcing defensive plays until the final out.
Across the weekend, the RoadRunners showed balance throughout the lineup, strong effort on the mound and the kind of energy that kept them competitive in every game. The group leaves Bullhead with tournament experience and plenty of positive moments to build on heading into the next stretch of the season.
