Patients receiving care through Nevada Heart & Vascular’s Pahrump office will benefit from expanded access to coordinated medical information following the practice’s participation in Nevada’s statewide health information exchange.
Nevada Heart & Vascular Center has joined HealtHIE Nevada, the state’s only open statewide health information exchange, allowing healthcare providers to securely share important patient information electronically with physicians, hospitals, laboratories and other healthcare organizations throughout Nevada.
The health information exchange is designed to streamline the sharing of clinical data, including imaging results and other key medical records, helping ensure healthcare providers have timely access to the information they need when treating patients.
By participating in the exchange, providers at Nevada Heart & Vascular can access more comprehensive patient information in real time through a secure platform. The enhanced connectivity is intended to improve care coordination, reduce unnecessary duplicate testing and services, and support better patient outcomes.
“Being part of the HealtHIE Nevada exchange greatly enhances our care coordination with a patient-centered approach,” said Dr. Tony Alamo, chief physician executive and chief medical officer for Nevada Heart & Vascular. “It also meets and exceeds HIPAA privacy and data security requirements to protect the medical data of our patients.”
According to the organization, the exchange includes hundreds of healthcare providers across Nevada, ranging from large acute care hospitals and rural critical access hospitals to cardiac care centers, primary care practices and local public health districts. The network also interfaces with several other health information exchanges and health plan exchanges throughout the country, further expanding providers’ ability to access important clinical information when needed.
Nevada Heart & Vascular operates a Pahrump office at 1440 E. Calvada Blvd., Suite 700, providing local patients with cardiac and vascular care while now offering the added benefit of participation in the statewide information-sharing network.
Founded in Las Vegas in 1998, Nevada Heart & Vascular has grown to become Nevada’s largest cardiology practice. The group provides comprehensive cardiac and vascular services, utilizing advanced treatment options and operating its own state-of-the-art vascular imaging center.
