Kym Atwell has been named Nevada State Director for the All American Girl youth development program, bringing plans for regional queen appointments and local preparation workshops to a program centered on natural beauty, poise, personality, public speaking and community service.
Currently offered in 14 states, including Nevada, All American Girl welcomes female participants ages 1 through 26. Its guiding phrase, “Crowns with a purpose,” reflects an emphasis on personal development and community involvement alongside competition.

“We have tons of fun, great events and encourage all of our participants to strive to be the best version of themselves,” Atwell shared.
Nevada currently offers two levels of competition, state and national finals, both held in Las Vegas. The next state competition is tentatively planned for April, while nationals are scheduled for the second week of July.
This year, participants also have an opportunity to apply for regional queen titles. Those positions will be appointed, with appointments expected by November. Applicants must commit to participating in the state competition.
The regional titles will provide another way for participants to become involved as Atwell begins her work leading the Nevada program. Interested applicants can contact Nevada All American Girl by email for more information or to request an application.
Required competition events include a closed interview, casual wear with an onstage personal introduction, and formal or party wear. These events give participants opportunities to express their personalities, practice public speaking and develop comfort presenting themselves before others.
The program offers several award categories, including overall, beauty and personality, as well as recognition through optional competitions such as talent, fun fashion and photogenic. Talent is separate from the required events and carries its own crown and banner.
Atwell also plans to hold local workshops where participants can practice skills such as onstage interviewing and prepare for competition. Workshop dates have not yet been determined.
While the program serves a broad age range, its Miss division is open to participants ages 19 through 26 who have never been married and have no children.
Through the workshops, regional appointments and upcoming competitions, Atwell is working to give Nevada participants opportunities to build their presentation skills and take part in the program’s focus on service and personal growth.
