Josh Williams Transforms Real Estate Photography with Williams Imagery

Josh Williams, the owner of Williams Imagery, LLC, has become a well-respected figure in commercial photography, particularly within real estate. Based in Pahrump, his business has thrived over the last five years, offering services that range from traditional photography to advanced drone imagery. However, Josh’s passion for photography began long before that, with over a decade of experience in the industry. “I’ve been doing photography for probably 12 to 13 years,” Josh recalls. His early experiences shooting cars and parts helped sharpen his technical skills, which he has since applied to the demanding world of commercial real estate.

The decision to focus on real estate photography came somewhat by chance. “I was working at Redbox at the time, and a few of my buddies were real estate agents,” Josh explains. “They asked if I could shoot a couple of their listings since they knew I took pictures. I offered to do it, not really knowing how to shoot real estate at the time, but it just spiraled from there.” His initial work for friends turned into a lucrative business opportunity, with more realtors seeking him out after seeing his polished results. It wasn’t long before Josh obtained his LLC and turned Williams Imagery into a thriving enterprise.

Josh’s services have expanded beyond standard photography, particularly with the growing demand for drone work. As a licensed drone operator, Josh uses aerial photography to provide clients with dynamic, sweeping views of properties—especially useful for large estates and commercial spaces. “Once you get up in the air, you start seeing things that you wouldn’t notice on the ground,” he says. “It gives a bird’s-eye view, which helps buyers or investors visualize the entire property, the layout, and even the surrounding environment. It’s a totally different perspective.”

Despite the rising popularity of drones, Josh is quick to point out that it’s not as simple as flying a drone and snapping pictures. As a Part 107 FAA-licensed operator, Josh adheres to strict regulations regarding where and how drones can be flown, especially in commercial airspace. “You have to notify airports when you’re going to fly, and you need waivers depending on the location,” he notes. This level of professionalism ensures that Josh’s drone work is always legal, safe, and compliant with federal guidelines, a distinction that not all drone operators can claim.

Real estate photography is far more complex than most people realize, and Josh’s work reflects a deep understanding of both technical and creative elements. “People think you can just walk into a property, snap some photos, and you’re done,” Josh says. “But there’s so much more to it. I bring in lights, I stage the space a certain way, and then I blend everything in post-production. It’s a multi-step process.” His attention to detail is evident in every shot, as he meticulously adjusts lighting, angles, and staging to make each property stand out.

In addition to drone photography, Williams Imagery offers a variety of specialized services. These include Zillow 360 walkthroughs, where Josh uses cutting-edge technology to create immersive virtual tours of properties. “I can do 360 scans, measure floor plans, and even create virtual stagings,” he explains. Virtual staging, where furniture and décor are digitally added to vacant homes, has become a popular option among realtors looking to show off the potential of a space. Josh also offers marketing kits for real estate agents, which include property websites, social media templates, and video reels. “I started offering these last year, and it’s been a big hit. Agents love having everything they need in one package,” he says.

One of the more memorable projects Josh has worked on involved shooting a massive solar farm near Boulder City, Nevada. “It was for one of the big solar companies out there,” Josh recalls. “I spent the whole day flying drones over the solar panels and towers, capturing this sprawling field of technology. It was really cool to see from that perspective, and it was a big project that stands out to me.” Other high-profile jobs include photographing million-dollar homes, where Josh’s expertise in lighting and composition has helped showcase these properties at their finest.

Though real estate makes up the majority of his business, Josh occasionally takes on other projects. “I shoot family portraits, graduation photos, and even pets,” he says. “Since I meet a lot of homeowners through my real estate work, they often ask if I can do professional photos of their pets. I’m an animal lover, so I’m always happy to oblige.” In fact, Josh’s versatility is one of the things that keeps his work exciting, allowing him to explore different facets of photography beyond his core business.

Keeping up with advancements in technology is critical in the fast-paced world of photography. Josh is acutely aware of the need to evolve and adapt, particularly as social media continues to dominate marketing strategies. “Social media has changed the game,” he notes. “I’ve had to start offering more video content because that’s what people are looking for now. Whether it’s Instagram reels or YouTube videos, clients want dynamic content that grabs attention.” To stay ahead, Josh has invested in creating professional-grade video tours and social media content tailored specifically to real estate agents, a service that has proven to be highly successful.

When it comes to balancing creativity with the technical side of photography, Josh enjoys pushing the boundaries. “I’m always trying to find new ways to shoot things, whether it’s using a wide lens or a zoom to capture something unique,” he says. “With real estate, it can be easy to fall into the trap of just standing in the corner and taking a wide-angle shot, but I like to mix it up. I’ll try different angles, focus on specific design elements, or use lighting to highlight certain features of a room.”

As he looks to the future, Josh is focused on expanding his business. “My workload has grown to the point where I’m looking to hire another photographer and possibly even expand more into Las Vegas,” he says. “I’m looking to hire another photographer and an editor soon, which will allow me to take on more clients and projects.” Josh’s ultimate goal is to build Williams Imagery into a full-service, multi-employee, real estate media company, offering everything from photography and videography to complete marketing solutions for agents and developers.

For those looking to hire Josh, contacting him is easy. He offers online scheduling through his website, williamsimageryllc.com, and is also active on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, where he frequently shares his latest projects.

With a commitment to staying on the cutting edge of technology, a keen eye for detail, and an ever-expanding portfolio of satisfied clients, Josh Williams and Williams Imagery, LLC are poised for continued success in the world of commercial real estate photography. Whether on the ground or from the sky, Josh captures the essence of every property with precision and creativity, helping his clients put their best foot forward.
