On September 17, the Pahrump Valley High School (PVHS) Trojans girls’ soccer teams traveled to face the Sunrise Mountain High School Miners in a strong performance from both the JV and varsity squads.
The JV team finished with a 1-1 draw, with Rosie Miller putting PVHS on the board. The Trojans’ defense showed resilience, while the team worked well to move the ball around the field. Despite their strong efforts, they were unable to capitalize on additional scoring opportunities. “We just couldn’t quite execute our shots,” said Head Coach Amy Carlson.
The varsity squad delivered their best game of the season so far, defeating the Miners 4-2. Natalia Vallin led the offensive charge with two goals, while Ryleigh Denton added another. Shae Boucher capped the victory with a beautiful one-touch finish off a long cross from Vallin. According to Coach Carlson, “The team communicated and controlled the ball really well. Their passing was on point, and it was an all-around great game. The team is starting to settle in and find their way. We have a lot of season left, and I’m excited to see the girls continue to grow.”
With this victory, the Trojans are building momentum as they head into the rest of the season.
