The atmosphere at Pahrump Valley High School’s football stadium was electric on Friday, August 23rd, as the Trojans kicked off their season opener against the Cheyenne Desert Shield. A packed crowd filled the stands, eagerly anticipating the start of the game. While the football team ultimately dominated the field with a commanding 29-8 victory, it was the school’s spirit leaders—the cheerleaders and dance team—who kept the energy high and the crowd engaged throughout the evening.

During time-out breaks, the dance team ensured that there was never a dull moment. They danced to upbeat music, performing routines that had the crowd clapping and moving along. With the Trojans leading 15-0 at halftime, the dance team took center stage and delivered a high-energy performance to “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” by Fergie, Q-Tip & GoonRock. Their routine, featuring sharp choreography and infectious beats, kept the crowd’s energy high and ensured the momentum carried into the second half.

The cheerleaders efforts throughout the game didn’t go unnoticed, especially by the student section who stood and cheered along proudly the entire game. The cheerleaders led chants, performed routines, and got the student section and other fans involved in a few classic call-and-response cheers. Their presence on the sidelines was a constant source of motivation for the football players, who thrived under the enthusiastic support.

The football team’s impressive 29-8 victory set a strong tone for the rest of the season, and the cheerleaders and dance team played a crucial role in making the season opener a memorable experience for everyone in attendance. As the final seconds ticked off the clock and the Trojans secured their win, the spirit leaders led the crowd in a celebratory fight song dance, with the football players joining along in the excitement, perfectly capping off an exciting night of sportsmanship and school spirit.

As Pahrump Valley High School looks forward to more games this season, the cheerleaders and dance team remain committed to bringing their energy and spirit to every event, ensuring that both the players and fans have an unforgettable experience. With a dedicated group of spirit leaders on the sidelines, the Trojans can be sure that they’ll always have the home-field advantage.
