A round of golf in California followed by time at Disneyland gave the Pahrump Valley High School girls’ golf team an opportunity to celebrate its accomplishments and make memories together during an Oct. 2–3 trip.
For the second consecutive year, the golfers and team managers visited Green River Golf Club in Corona, California, for a friendly match hosted by Villa Park High School. Head Coach Sierra McKillips expressed appreciation for the hospitality of Villa Park’s coach and players, who welcomed the Trojans for a fun round on the course.
The visit gave the team a chance to share its sport with another high school program while enjoying an experience beyond its regular competition schedule. After golf, the group headed to Anaheim to spend the remainder of the trip at Disneyland.

“Over the weekend the team made so many amazing memories,” McKillips said. “It was a great way to build teamwork and celebrate all the accomplishments as a team.”
Those experiences were made possible through fundraising that began over the summer and continued throughout the season. The funds covered the trip, with participants responsible only for their food expenses.
McKillips and fellow coach Dani hosted the BBQ and Birdies scramble at Mountain Falls Golf Club in June, followed by a Halloween glow golf event at Lakeview in September. Together, those efforts helped provide both the California experience and new equipment for the program.
In addition to paying for the trip, the fundraising proceeds covered brand-new team golf bags for the girls, giving the players something they could continue using after returning home.
The golfers also helped make the fundraisers successful. Team members encouraged players to participate in the tournaments and helped sell raffle tickets, contributing directly to the opportunities they would later enjoy together.
That involvement connected the work of the season with its rewards. The California trip represented months of effort by the coaches and players, along with support from those who participated in the fundraising events.

The weekend paired a sport the girls enjoy with the excitement of a Disneyland trip alongside their teammates. With golf in Corona and time together in Anaheim, the players and managers had a chance to celebrate their season, strengthen friendships and share memories that reached well beyond the course.
From the friendly round at Green River to a weekend together at Disneyland, the Trojans had an opportunity to enjoy what they had helped make possible.
