The Pahrump Valley High School girls’ basketball team put together a strong all-around performance at home on Wednesday, January 14, earning a convincing 56–32 victory over The Meadows Mustangs. Mixing timely pressure with efficient offense, the Lady Trojans built control early and steadily widened the gap as the game went on.

Pahrump Valley set the tone in the opening quarter by attacking the basket and capitalizing on defensive stops. Sydney Crotty opened the scoring at the free-throw line, and Kaitlyn Brown followed with a three-pointer from the right side. Riley Saldaña made her presence felt immediately, rebounding and scoring in the paint before converting a steal-and-finish with Crotty on the assist. Ella Odegard added energy on defense by forcing a jump ball, helping the Trojans jump out to an 18–8 lead by the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter showcased Pahrump Valley’s depth and perimeter shooting. The Lady Trojans applied face-guarding pressure, creating turnovers that turned into points. Brown knocked down two more three-pointers from the left wing, while Saldaña continued to score in transition and at the line. Defensive pressure from Crotty and Odegard led to multiple steals, and efficient ball movement allowed the Trojans to push the lead to 32–15 by halftime.

After the break, Pahrump Valley maintained its momentum. Even without full-court pressure, the Trojans remained disciplined defensively and sharp on offense. Julie Briggs found Saldaña cutting down the lane for a basket, and Saldaña followed with several strong finishes off rebounds and drives. By the end of the third quarter, the Lady Trojans had extended their advantage to 48–25.

In the final quarter, Pahrump Valley continued to control the pace. Crotty converted a pair of free throws, Addi forced a jump ball and later added a steal and layup, and the Trojans closed the game with steady execution on both ends of the floor. The final score, 56–32, reflected a complete team effort marked by defensive intensity, balanced scoring, and consistent energy throughout the lineup.

With contributions coming from multiple players and strong play on both ends of the court, the Lady Trojans delivered a confident home win and continued to show growth as the season progresses
