The Rosemary Clarke Middle School Sharks volleyball teams wrapped up their regular season at home on Thursday, October 23, taking on The Meadows Mustangs in front of a spirited crowd that cheered every serve, spike, and dive. Both the B and A teams showed determination, teamwork, and heart as they battled through their sets, ending the season on a positive note that reflected their steady growth and resilience.

The B team opened the evening, starting strong with early serves from Karah Sheppard and Racey Horibe that kept the Sharks competitive through the opening points. Despite a tough serving run from The Meadows that put the Sharks on their heels midway through the first game, players like Oliviah Gray and Mckenna Nye continued to hustle on defense while Odette Tointigh’s diving efforts kept rallies alive. Late in the game, Sheppard came back to deliver an ace followed by several points in a row, closing the gap before the Mustangs claimed the first set 25–10.

In the second game, the Sharks found their rhythm. Avery Henkel’s serves tied the score early, and Gianna Domingo added energy with her aggressive play, diving to keep the ball alive and helping push the team into a brief lead at 8–6. Tymber Gott added back-to-back aces, and Racey Horibe’s net presence brought cheers from the sidelines. Though the Mustangs regained momentum late in the set, the Sharks fought hard to the finish, falling 18–25 after several long volleys and strong defensive efforts. The B team’s scrappy play demonstrated how far the group has come this season, improving in consistency and communication every match.

The A team took the court next, continuing the competitive energy. The Sharks started off strong with solid serves from Kali Smith and digs from Emri Wulfenstein to keep The Meadows on their toes. Payton Singer and Mahina Decambra worked the front line, contesting spikes and hustling for tough saves, while Kinley Cross-Smith and Daisy Skougard provided crucial serves that helped close the gap in scoring. Though The Meadows managed several long serving runs, Rosemary Clarke responded with teamwork and smart plays, ultimately dropping the first set 13–25 after several hard-fought volleys.

The second set brought even more intensity. Victoria Glover, Emri Wulfenstein, and Mahina Decambra each made key plays to keep the Sharks within reach early on. Smith’s serves helped tie the score at 5–5, and Kinley Cross-Smith added an ace late in the game. Decambra fired up the bench with a late-set ace of her own, but The Meadows held on to take the final set 25–12.

Although the final scores didn’t fall in Rosemary Clarke’s favor, both teams demonstrated how much they’ve grown this season—improving their passing, communication, and confidence with every match. From diving saves to timely aces, the Sharks showed that their season has been about much more than wins and losses—it’s been about effort, teamwork, and pride in representing their school.
