Kym ‘Kat’ Atwell Brings Expertise and Care to Katwell’s Lash and Day Spa

Kym “Kat” Atwell, the owner of Katwell’s Lash and Day Spa, has built a thriving business by blending expertise, warmth, and a passion for helping her clients look and feel their best. Located inside Bella Salon at 1231 E Basin Ave #3, Kym’s spa offers a personalized experience in a welcoming environment. Her journey into the world of aesthetics started with a focus on lash extensions, but it quickly grew into something much more comprehensive. “I initially just wanted to do lashes, and becoming an esthetician was the shortest route to do that legitimately,” she explained. However, her time in training inspired her to explore a broader range of services, including skincare and waxing. Today, Katwell’s Lash and Day Spa is in its third year in Pahrump, offering a wide array of treatments designed to meet each client’s unique needs.

With over eight years of full-time experience and 13 years of expertise in lash services, Kym is a seasoned professional. She initially earned her basic esthetician license, completing hundreds of hours of education and passing state board exams. Her commitment to learning didn’t stop there. Kym pursued additional certifications in microneedling, sugaring, and teeth whitening, continually expanding her skill set. “I get bored easily,” she joked, emphasizing her enthusiasm for staying ahead of trends in the industry. Kym has embraced online platforms like Instagram and TikTok for much of her continuing education, a method she finds convenient and effective, though she also attends in-person training for more hands-on skills.

While Kym offers a variety of services, her favorites are those that deliver immediate, visible results. “I enjoy any service where there’s immediate gratification,” she said. “You walk in hairy, you leave not hairy. You walk in without lashes, you leave with lashes.” Lashes remain her specialty, but she also loves waxing and skincare treatments that provide her clients with instant transformations. Her focus on practical, results-driven services is matched by her thoughtful approach to skincare. She prioritizes budget-friendly recommendations, often suggesting products from accessible brands like CeraVe and The Ordinary. “One facial won’t fix years of damage, so at-home care is critical,” she noted. Kym believes that making skincare affordable encourages her clients to maintain consistent routines, which are essential for long-term results.

When clients visit Katwell’s Lash and Day Spa, they are greeted by an inviting, personalized atmosphere. Kym’s cheerful personality and focus on customer service set her apart. “I want people to open their eyes or finish their treatment feeling happy,” she shared. Over time, Kym has refined her approach to create a calming environment that puts even nervous clients at ease. Her background in managing medical clinics has equipped her with exceptional problem-solving skills and a professional demeanor. “Anyone can be trained to do the right procedure, but not everyone brings the same level of customer service and professionalism,” she said. She takes pride in her ability to adapt to each client’s needs, ensuring they leave satisfied.

Education plays a key role in Kym’s work. She often encounters misconceptions about skincare, such as the belief that dermaplaning will cause facial hair to grow back thicker. “When you shave, the thicker part of the hair is what grows back first, but it doesn’t change the hair itself,” she explained, dispelling the myth with scientific clarity. She is equally candid about the impact of last-minute cancellations and no-shows, emphasizing that her business is a legitimate profession, not a side gig. “Cancellations affect my ability to pay bills and care for my family,” she said, underscoring the importance of respecting her time.

Looking ahead, Kym’s goals are rooted in her love for her craft and her clients. “I want full books so I’m financially secure but still have room to say yes to people who need care,” she said. She has no desire to expand into a larger salon, preferring the personal connections she fosters in her current setup. For Kym, the most rewarding part of her job is seeing her clients’ happiness. “I want them to leave feeling good about themselves,” she said.

Clients can easily book appointments at Katwell’s Lash and Day Spa through social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, which link to an online booking system. For those who prefer texting, Kym is happy to accommodate and provides prompt, friendly responses. 775-496-0226.

With her combination of expertise, genuine care, and a welcoming approach, Kym continues to make Katwell’s Lash and Day Spa a destination where self-care and transformation go hand in hand. “Come see me,” she invites, confident that her personalized services and upbeat energy will leave every client feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Kym is a close friend of mine. I met her the week before the Covid shutdown. She did my lashes and they were amazing! There is no better person on this earth that I would trust with my lashes or any other service. On the outside of the salon, she is a hoot to be around! I live in Washington so whenever we get a chance to go to Vegas we always make it a point to spend a weekend with her and her husband. Kym is a blessing to have in your life and she will tell it to you like it is! I love that about her! Pahrump is so lucky to have her!
