Center For Sight Brings Expert Eye Care to Pahrump

Pahrump residents now have convenient access to advanced eye care services with the opening of Center For Sight – Las Vegas’ new clinic at 1430 E. Calvada Blvd, Suite 600. The facility is equipped with two state-of-the-art exam and treatment rooms and offers a range of services, including annual eye exams, diabetes screenings, glaucoma checks, and pre-screenings for specialized treatments. This new location allows patients to receive routine care locally, eliminating the need for trips to Las Vegas for many services.

“We’ve heard for years that residents in Pahrump wanted local access to high-quality eye care,” said Preston Rawlings, Executive Director at Center for Sight. “This clinic is just the start. We’re beginning with two days a month, but as demand increases, we’ll expand both our services and our availability. We want to provide the care people need in their own community.”

The clinic focuses on providing medical eye care rather than retail eyewear. While prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses are available, the primary offerings include services like diabetes and glaucoma management, corneal issue care, and screenings for more complex conditions. Rawlings emphasized that most patients’ needs can be met at the Pahrump clinic, though surgeries and advanced procedures like LASIK will still be handled in Las Vegas.

“For surgical procedures, like cataract surgery or LASIK, patients will need to visit our Las Vegas location,” Rawlings explained. “But they can return to Pahrump for follow-ups. It’s part of our commitment to making care as accessible and convenient as possible.”

A key difference between the Pahrump clinic and other local providers is the presence of ophthalmologists—medical doctors specializing in diagnosing and treating eye diseases, performing surgeries, and managing complex conditions. Optometrists, while qualified to handle routine vision care and prescriptions, do not offer the same level of medical expertise or surgical capabilities.

The clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most major insurance plans, making its services widely accessible. Patients with conditions like macular degeneration can receive medication management at the clinic, though advanced treatments requiring injections or surgeries will be referred to specialists in Las Vegas.

The clinic is open on the second Friday and fourth Wednesday of each month, with plans to add more availability soon. “Our first dates filled up quickly,” Rawlings said. “We encourage patients to share their feedback about the schedule so we can best meet the community’s needs.”

    George Bouras, OD

Appointments can be made by calling 702-724-2020 or through the online booking system at centerforsightlv.com. Rawlings added that the team looks forward to serving the community and continuing to grow. “This has been a long time coming, and we’re thrilled to finally be here. Our goal is to provide compassionate, expert care and to make a difference in the lives of Pahrump residents.”
