    Senior Spotlight: Adriana Amador

As Adriana Amador, a Senior at Pahrump Valley High School (PVHS), looks back on her high school years, she does so with a sense of pride and gratitude for the experiences that have shaped her. For Adriana, it wasn’t just about academics or extracurricular activities—it was about personal growth and finding her place in the community. “My most memorable experience at PVHS has to be growing and learning to be a part of the community,” Adriana shared. “I learned to love myself and took the time to understand my peers and workplace. Growing with friends and family here at school has positively impacted me in many ways, and for that, I’m forever grateful.”

Throughout her time at PVHS, Adriana immersed herself in both sports and social connections. She was a key player in basketball and soccer, both of which have had a lasting influence on her high school experience. “Being a part of these sports has been a great experience because of the people and the coaches who all care so much about each other,” Adriana explained. “I never felt left out or lonely, and we always made sure to have each other’s backs. Even when times were tough, we saw the positive side of things.” These experiences in team sports fostered a sense of unity in Adriana, teaching her the importance of support and perseverance.

Academically, Adriana faced her share of challenges, but she never let those obstacles hold her back. She is proud of the effort she put in to continually improve and grow as a student and individual. “The one thing I’m most proud of myself for doing has to have been the effort I’ve put in to see myself grow,” she said. “I’ve seen good and bad times, but it has never discouraged me from pushing myself to be academically and physically successful.”

As she prepares to turn the page on her high school journey, Adriana is already looking forward to what the future holds. She has been accepted to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where she plans to pursue a degree in construction management, a field she’s passionate about. “I’ve worked hard for this, and I’m proud to say I’ve been accepted and admitted at UNLV for fall of 2025.”

Adriana’s advice to younger students is born from her own experiences of navigating the ups and downs of high school. “The only advice I would 100% recommend for any underclassmen is just to never give up,” she emphasized. “Look at the bright side of things even when it gets tough because, at the end of the day, you’ll thank yourself for all the effort you put in to get to where you’re going.”

Her journey at PVHS may be coming to an end, but Adriana will carry the lessons she learned and the friendships she built with her as she embarks on her next chapter. With her drive, positivity, and strong sense of community, there’s no doubt that she will continue to succeed, both academically and personally. As Adriana looks forward to her future in construction management, she leaves PVHS as a shining example of what it means to grow and build a solid foundation for success.
