Better Bins Helps Residents Say Goodbye to Smelly Garbage Cans

What started as a simple idea has grown into a service many homeowners now consider essential. Through Better Bins, Hayley and Matheau Redmond are helping residents tackle one of the most overlooked sources of odors and bacteria around the home—the garbage can.

Better Bins is a mobile garbage can cleaning service that brings professional sanitation directly to customers’ homes. Using specialized equipment mounted on the back of a service truck, the company cleans, sanitizes, and deodorizes trash bins while safely hauling away wastewater instead of leaving residue behind.

“We come to you and clean your garbage can completely,” Hayley said. “The water doesn’t get dumped in your yard—we take it with us.”

The service addresses more than just unpleasant smells. Regular cleaning helps reduce flies, maggots, and rodents attracted to food waste buildup inside bins.

“People think it’s just a garbage can,” Hayley explained. “But when you open it and it doesn’t smell, you really notice the difference.”

The company’s most popular option is monthly service, though customers can choose weekly, quarterly, or one-time cleanings depending on their needs. Many residents initially sign up during the hotter summer months when odors become stronger but continue service year-round after seeing the benefits.

“Even in the winter, it still helps,” Hayley said. “Once people start, they usually keep going because they like having clean cans.”

Scheduling is designed for convenience. Cleanings take place on the same day as trash pickup, ensuring bins are empty and customers don’t need to relocate garbage.

“If your trash is picked up Monday, we come Monday,” Hayley said.

The business currently operates with a dedicated driver managing routes and still has room to welcome new customers. Flexible packages allow homeowners to adjust frequency based on seasonal needs or personal preference.

Customers can contact Better Bins by phone (call or text) at 775-727-7573 or email at betterbinsllc@yahoo.com. Annual payment options are available and include added savings incentives.

For the Redmonds, Better Bins reflects their broader approach to business—identifying everyday problems and offering practical, convenient solutions that improve daily life. What may seem like a small service quickly becomes a noticeable upgrade, turning an often-ignored household chore into something customers no longer have to think about.
