Bella Salon is once again rallying the community this holiday season with its second annual food drive benefiting the VFW food bank, offering residents a meaningful way to support local veterans. Donations of non-perishable food and monetary contributions will be accepted from Friday, December 5 through noon on Friday, December 19, with all collected items delivered to the VFW that afternoon.

After a successful first year, Bella Salon is expanding its effort and encouraging even more community participation. Donations can be dropped off directly at the salon, and for those who may not have time to shop—or would simply prefer to donate money—cash contributions are also welcomed. Funds will be used by the Bella Salon team to shop for needed items, guided by a priority list provided by the VFW.

Kym (Kat) Atwell of Katwell’s Lash and Day Spa – located inside Bella Salon – shared that several essential items are consistently in short supply at the VFW. Kat’s contact at the VFW, Jill, shared, “we are always low on canned fruit.” Other high-need foods include canned meats such as Spam, canned chicken, canned salmon, sardines, and Vienna sausages. Jelly, cereal, oatmeal, corned beef hash, and snack items are also appreciated.

The VFW food bank additionally assists veterans with important non-food necessities. Adult diapers, disposable razors, cleaning products, and bars of soap remain in high demand.

Bella Salon hopes to build on last year’s momentum and fill every donation box, ensuring volunteers have the resources they need to help local veterans this holiday season. Whether donating a bag of food, a single item, or a few dollars toward the shopping trip, every contribution makes a meaningful impact.

Donations can be dropped off during regular business hours at Bella Salon, located at 1231 E Basin Ave #3, now through December 19.
