The Pahrump Valley High School gym was alive with energy on Friday, October 10, as the Lady Trojans volleyball program hosted the Desert Pines Jaguars. The B Team, Junior Varsity, and Varsity squads each turned in commanding performances, earning straight-set victories that showcased teamwork, precision, and confidence from start to finish.

The B Team opened the evening with a dominant two-set win. Ariana “Ari” Apolinar’s early aces set the tone before Aviana “Avi” Michel followed with several more to give the Trojans an early 8–2 lead. Strong net play from Bella Calixto and Kendra Jones added to the momentum, while setters Abbey Sutton and Jillian Wilson kept plays alive through long rallies. Marley Gomez closed the first set with consecutive aces and a key kill to secure the 25–19 finish. In the second set, the Trojans’ chemistry was on full display. Ari and Avi continued to lead from the service line, combining for multiple aces, while Marley and Kendra contributed powerful hits to seal the win 25–12. The bench and crowd erupted as the young Trojans celebrated their hard-earned sweep.

The Junior Varsity team followed with an equally impressive showing, defeating Desert Pines 25–6 and 25–5. Autumn Colon was unstoppable from the service line in the first set, recording a string of aces that built a 12–0 lead before the Jaguars could respond. Olivia Veloz and Ava Bowers powered through with kills that kept the momentum firmly on Pahrump’s side. The second set saw more of the same consistency, with strong hitting from Olivia, Kaitlyn Brown, and Emerlynn Roscoe. Bentlee Chiancone closed the match with a remarkable serving run that included multiple aces, finishing off the Jaguars in convincing fashion.

The Varsity squad completed the evening with a three-set sweep, 25–7, 25–6, 25–8, backed by a dynamic offensive and defensive effort. Heavenly Ware opened the match with an ace, followed by kills from Marayah Waller and Xe’ane Kamanu to build an early lead. Consistent setting from Henna Maiava allowed hitters like Miani Freitas-Faamai and Riley Saldaña to dominate at the net. Sedona Norton and Nala Dalton kept pressure on the Jaguars with aces and key defensive plays, while Amaliah Mendoza contributed from the back row with precise serving. The Trojans’ energy never wavered, closing out each set with confidence and control.

By the third set, Pahrump’s rhythm was unstoppable. Henna opened with a streak of aces, and Marayah added multiple kills that electrified the crowd. Contributions from across the roster, including Madison Rodriguez and Myah Krolczyk, highlighted the depth of the team. Myah sealed the victory with a series of aces before Amaliah finished the match on serve, giving PVHS the clean sweep.

It was a complete night of Trojan pride, with every level of the program demonstrating focus, communication, and determination. The victories not only added to the teams’ winning records but also underscored the strength of Pahrump Valley volleyball from top to bottom.
